Yeah so. I haven't posted a livejournal post since my birthday. And that would be a month on this day. D: How sad! So now I will provide you with (probably incomplete info) about my life in the last month! Yay!

The three days after my birthday were uneventful, at least according to my planner. lol. These days I write everything in my planner because I'll forget if I don't. 8D

Buuut on the 11th I tutored Isabelle and Kristen on their French. They had a test the next day and I think they said it wasn't too bad, and for that I was glad. =3 I There was also a hall meeting that night and it was. Um. Lame I guess. lol. We only ever talk about stuff we should fix to build a better community. Yeah.

The next few days were fairly uneventful but on the 14th. Omg. Freakin' Hurricane Ike. I mean, seriously, wth. What the hell kind of hurricane goes all the way up to Ohio?! It was freakin's freaky. I had to close my window because I thought the wind was gonna blow my screens in. Stephanie and I like wandered outside cuz Stephanie likes wind, and like branches were falling all over the place. D: Stephanie took like a bajillion pictures. There's a video on Youtube of a tree falling over! Srsly I just can't freakin' escape. D: They had like, cleanup groups going around, and they warned students not to go out during peak wind times. It was freaky. And places in Ohio were without power for like, at least a week. It was ridiculous.

On the fifteenth I was forced to go for ANOTHER tuberculosis test (I did one over the summer but forgot to go back to get it checked and then I went to get x-rays but apparently the x-rays didn't mean anything to the help center and idek it was annoying as shit). And OH YEAH! We had our FIRST EVER Japanese test zomg! It was ridiculously easy. I finished in like 10 minutes and had to wait for her to do the listening comprehension. lol. I got 100 on that test. 8D

The 17th was like FREE FOOD DAY! because there was a cookout for the police (which are apparently known as the 5-0 somewhere? idk) which featured free food that they took too long to cook so there was a long line. xD; It also featured cornhole (which is beanbag toss in case you didn't know...it's apparently a popular thing in the midwest. lol. farmers! [someone is going to kill me]) and some weird game where you through this string with a rubber ball attached to either end that you through at this pvc pipe contraption and depending on which level the string wraps around you get points. It's pretty intense. And then Paul, one of the RAs invited me to throw a football with him and Roisten, this kid in my Wittsem, and that was kind of fun. And then I had to jet because my Wittsem was having a meeting to tell us about our $3000 trip to no-man's land in China and feed us free pizza. And OMG have I mentioned that they have red cream soda here and it's DELICOUS?! Zomg. But anyway yeah. I mean the trip does seem interesting but I don't think I want to pay $3000 to go and stay somewhere in a hovel in China. D: Plus Dr. Smith, my East Asia teacher, is doing a much cooler looking trip to China around the same time for a longer time and more worth the monies. So. But I don't think I'll go to either cuz I ain't gots moneys for that.

On the 19th I cancelled Netflix. D: Even though I haven't been using it since before I left my family miscommunicates and we never cancelled it until then. ._.; We really need help. Also, the 19th was the beginning of Family Weekend! But my family didn't come. D: But I did meet Stephanie & Sammy's parents & Stephanie's siblings, and they were nice. Stephanie's older brother goes to Akron University and seemed really cool. I probably would have hung with him were he a student here.

Anyways it's probably good that my rents didn't come because I had my FIRST EVER (technically second because the Turning Point essay for summer college counts--btw I got an A on that! But I got a B+ for summer college...idk why. D: Prolly because of the DAMN GRADING SYSTEM [see below]) paper in college! :O It was for my Wittsem and was based on the book we read about Globalization. I wrote about 6 pages and used lotsa stuff, so I thought I did really well. And I did! I got an A! A 95! =D I was so happy that I yelled "YES!" and my roommate dutifully ignored me.

On the 23 I had a meeting with my RA Bree because she was required to do like a questionnare with us. I dunno it wasn't really awkward but it kind was and it was all about like how we were adjusting to our first few weeks of school. idk. Whatev. lol. On the 24th was an Oreo Social! Mmm delicious. We basically went around introducing us to all the people who came from the 4th floor. I finally got to know some of their names because somehow all the people on our floor like cliqued and now they like, don't even bother to smile or anything when we walk past each other. It's kinda sad. But it's alright. Some of them do, but most don't.

On the 25th we started this like map assignment using the cumbersome and annoying mapping program. Idk. It was just, kind of inflexible and annoying. We had to like, put all the EU members on a map of Europe and color code them according to when they joined. It wasn't too bad, but still a little painful. Because everyone was so painful, she extended the deadline from being one week afterwards to a week and a half. lol.

We also had the East Asian Studies Meet & Greet were we met all the teachers for the EAS program (well not all because I'm sure the 5 that were there weren't all of them), and a couple of the members. It was kind of nice, but it wasn't long and I had to like rush out in the middle to go eat dinner before Dragon Dance (which I will tell you about in a second). But yeah.

AND ON THE 26TH THE NEW DBSK CD WAS RELEASED AND OMG I WAS SO EXCITED. I had preordered it like a week or two before and was like GAH. WAITING. I even abstained from downloading and listening so as to procure the purest first listen. I also bought Younha's latest (2nd) album Someday and BoA's 4th Korean album My Name and unrelatedly An Cafe's latest album Gokutama Rock Cafe. =D So the release of DBSK's latest album means that all of these would be shipped soon. :O

But the happiness of the release was crushed by my first calculus exam. D: It was on Ch. 1 & 2, basically pre-calc, limits, and solving derivatives by using tables and graphs and by using the limit definition. So it was pretty basic and I didn't bother paying much attention to it. And the test. The test was not hard, per se, but it was SUPER LONG for the hour we had and the questions were complicated enough to confuse me, and I had to rush so I made some dumb mistakes. I thought I flunked it (which means I got a C D: ) but indeed I got a B+. =D

(BTW...grades work with pluses and minuses here, something that we in Florida haven't used and thus I find difficult to keep in mind. And a freaken' A is from 94+. It's really unfair. ;_;  Stupid Florida and its making things too easy and retarded.)

On the next Monday my calc batteries died. D: It had been warning me since school started but I ignored it because it was still working properly. lol. I was being stingy. But I'm glad it didn't die during the test. I might have failed. xD; So I spent the last week not using my calculator because I forgot that the antiquated thing uses AAA batteries of all things and all I have is AA batteries. So I didn't buy any until today cuz I kept forgetting to bring money with me when I went to the student center to get food, since the school store is in there too.

AND ON THAT DAY MY YESASIA ORDER SHIPPED OMG. I was so excited. =DDDD

And. On the 2nd of October (because the last few days of September were, as far as I can really remember, uneventful, but I'm sure things happened. lol) we were assigned our first paper for Intro to East Asia. It was (again) about the book that we read, The Daughter of Han, about a Chinese woman in the late 19th, early twentieth centuries. It was a really interesting book! And this might sound extremely strange but I really loved writing that paper. It was supposed be about whether or not the woman was a good Confucian. I really think I rocked that essay too. It was due last Thursday and he hadn't finished grading them yet today so idk what I got, but I can't wait to find out~

On Saturday, I had to get up at 5:00 in the MORNING to go to Akron, OH and do District Service Project with Circle K (which I will talk about later). And...it was a lovely 3 hour drive. Luckily we didn't have a whole lot of people with us so in the Wittvan it was rather spacious, but it wasn't entirely easy to sleep so I ended up being...sleepless. D: DSP itself was somewhat fun. I got separated from my group when we went to the Salvation Army and I ended up moving things out of a storehouse and rearranging things. It was...lame. There was so much cluttter no one knew what to do. And then we went back to the base and ate lunch, which was delicious pizza from some place. And then we stayed at the base, which was the YMCA of Akron, and scrubbed scuff marks off the walls of the racquetball and squash courts. It was...surprisingly more entertaining than moving things around in a warehouse. Idk. Overall, we spent more time driving (6 hours) that doing service (5 hours). Although we get 9 hours of service in total, is nice.

That night, me, Stephanie, Sammy, Adam, Hannah, and this guy from downstairs Will watched the final episodes of the first seaon of Avatar! It was soo awesomely epic! I was extremely excited, as was everyone else. (Did I mention before that we have been watching Avatar just about every week? It's pretty damn awesome. Instead of going out, we watched Avatar. 8D) And then, well, to contradict myself, Sammy, Hannah, Adam, and Kevin went out, and apparently Sammy came home piss drunk and threw up several times. She flet like total SHIT the next day. She has now vowed never to drink again. lol.

Oh, during the weekend Jenny went out caving with her wittsem, which is about...caves. lol. She wasn't looking too much forward to it but when she came back she couldn't stop talking about it. xD; I assume she had quite a lot of fun.

Anyways on Sunday I went to the FLLC because I didn't want to go on Friday and there I met Alex, who is in the 400 level Japanese class, which is like a free conversation class. It's pretty damn awesome. lol. He's one of the Japanese tutors and he's really hilarious and really cool. (And today I found out he SINGS! lol) Anyways yeah, that was probably the most fun I've ever had at the FLLC . Normally I have to spend 90 minutes doing a worksheet that takes me half an hour and then I spend 60 minutes wasting time. But I spent the 30 minutes doing the worksheet and then did the dialogue thingy with Alex and we talked about random things and he made fun of Sean from my class and how he looks like Wesley from the Princess Bride. lol. And Sean was like "hurh?" lolol. Too funny. Anyways like my whole Japanese class was in there that day and poor Alex had to do that stupid dialogue like 10 times. lol.

Annnnnd then yesterday wwe had our SECOND EVER JAPANESE TEST ZOMG. It was another ridiculously easy test and I finished it in like 15 minutes. lol. Not hard at all. but now I'm excited because we're actually going to learn things I don't already know. :O We're starting Kanji! OMg! So exciting! Even though I already know the ones we're going to be learning, I don't remember all the readings. So. Tis good. And we're learning (extremely basic) verb forms! YAY! So exciting.

And finally. today we had our first quiz in Wittsem class. I wasn't too worried about it because I paid good attention to the book as I was reading and understood everything fine. But that quiz was freakin' ridiculous. There were number questions on there. I mean, really, who does that?! What's the population of russia? I don't freakin' know. Which region has the highest percentage of the population over 65? Who the fuck cares? Ack, it made me anrgy. But I finished it in 20 minutes and thus got out of class an hour and 10 minutes early. lol. Super awesome.

AND TODAY MY CDS CAME AND OMG I WAS SO EXCITED AND MY ROOMMATE THOUGHT I WAS REALLY WEIRD BECAUSE I GOT THEM ALL THE WAY FROM HONG KONG BUT WHO FREKIN' CARES. Oooooooh the DBSK CD is sooo cool~ I really love "MIROTIC" and so many of the songs are great~ I've listened to it twice. I will listen to it again as soon as I finish listening to Gokutama Rock Cafe because I want to go though my other CDs (which I have and they're all good). Loooooove~ And the DBSK CD comes in this really epic plastic case that's like glued together inefficiently. lol. It looked really cool but it's kind of crappy. xD; I was slightly disappointed with them. lol.

Also this week is homecoming week but it's not nearly as spirited as in high school. There's lotsa events on Saturday, but basically this week is dressup days and no one appears to be dressing up. lol. lame much.

So that's my sum up of like, the last few weeks. Now I'll go over some general things that span long times and/or I don't remember when they happened. lol.

I finished watching Maou, Code Blue, and Yasuko to Kenji, all of which were good. I will miss Ohno and his devilish looks, and while the ending was kind of like "OMG" I didn't think it was bad for a Jdrama. lol. Code Blue ended and everything was resolved, so that was good. There were no loose ends. And Yasuko to Kenji...so silly but fun. I enjoyed it. Especially Okura's Cheese shirt that I posted before. lol. I have also been watching Shibatora, Taiyou to Umi no Kyoushitsu, Here is Greenwood, Cat Street. and Koizora, but the subs haven't been coming out for those and I am ANGST and DEPRESSION and ANGER. But I like them all, except for Here is Greenwood, because it's ridiculously cheesy, silly, and retarded. lol. Well, I still like it, I guess, I just wouldn't call it something I'd go out of my way to watch if I wasn't already. I've also started watching (and am almost finished with) the Korean drama Hello Miss, which is extremely hilarious and I love. Koreans are freakin funny people, I tell ya. But Megaupload! Woe is me! I can no longer download from them except in the very extremely early hours of the morning (by which I mean 5 am)! It downloads for like 5 seconds and then just gives up~ It's so depressing. And EVERYONE uploads in MU but I can't download from there. D: Sadness!

Oh and I accidently got Jenny addicted to Bleach. She was really bored one day and was like "Hey do you have Naruto?" because she did like Naruto, and so she was flipping through my CD case and like "Ooooh Bleach!" So she started watching it (I had to install the codecs on her comp lol) and was like "wth is this I don't know any of these characters" and apparently she thought Bleach was part of Naruto. xD; Poor Jenny. But she kept watching and got hooked. xD; Her getting hooked has made me want to watch it again and thus I have been recently downloading the episodes again. I will eventually start watching them again. lol.

As for my exercising, well, it's really king of slowed down. I go to the gym and I get exercise via Martial Arts club and Dragon dance, but they feed us so much crap in the cafeteria that it's hard to lose weight. I'm sure my buying goldfish and 100 calorie packs and granola bars isn't helping. Idk what to do. I'm not going to buy any more snacks and just eat protein bars and drink protein shakes and eat fruit for snacks, and I'm going to try to stop eating the crappy desserts in the CDR. Maybe then I will lose some fat. Idk it's like I managed to lose like 3 pounds and then it fluctuates up and down. It's kind of annoying.

I'm in like a bajillion clubs. lol. Martial Arts club is fun. We do Tae Kwon Do and we have a black belt who comes in from Columbus once a week to train us. I could test and get my black belt by senior year if I wanted to, and I think I will try. It'll be cool. Dragon Dance club seems like it'll be a lot of fun but we don't have enough people to man the dragon. We have 7 and you need 9. It's very sad. D: East Asian Studies Club is awesome because there are people in there like me who appreciate Asians. xD; I'm not sure about music but on Sunday we watched a Korean movie called He Was Cool and it was such a hilariously cheesy but adorable story! I love Koreans. xD; Circle K is a service organization I joined because it had the word "International" associated with it but in actual fact it has nothing to do with internationalism. lol. But the people are really nice and the service is cool. And service is important for scholarships, which I have decided I need to look for because I suck. I'm also in Astronomy Club and Anime Club but I really am not going to those meetings because, well, Friday nights are Avatar nights and the anime club meets on friday, and shows retarded anime anyway with annoying people and it's more worth it to sit at my computer and watch. lol. And astronomy club is cool but it, I dunno, as much as I love Dr. Fleisch, it isn't an interesting club. It has too many people in it. And I have bajillions of commitments already anyways.

Classes are going great. Japanese is awesome, Calculus sucks, Wittsem fails to hold my attention, and East Asian Studies is awesome. I love it here. =]

EVERYONE is sick around here but i'm not (I'm not going to jinx it!) and I guess that's because the weather changed kind of suddenly, so it's been like 40-50 degrees in the morning and 60-70 degrees in the afternoon. Not too terrible, and I really love the cool weather. I'm enjoying it. =D I need to buy more long-sleeve shirts though, and I kind of want some more sweaters. xD;

My morning job is going fine. It gets slow and I have nothing to do at times, and then I feel awkward doing my homework. But it's an easy job and it doesn't interrupt my schedule because it's right in the morning. So that's nice.

I still have no BF. There was a Japanese senior that I was interested in for a while but he's awkward and seems to ignore me all the time and apparently has a gf, so idc anymore. And then there's half-Asian looking guy in my calc class and in marital arts club and he's really quiet (Nelson and I have dubbed him "Sano" from Hana Kimi because he seems kind of quiet and pensive but he isn't really as anti-social as i thought he was) who seems kinda nice but idk he never talks to me. There's a super-hot half-Philippine guy in our dorm and GOD is he cute but he's part of the clique that I can't get into. And there are a few non-Asian guys here or there that I've met briefly but not very often. So. Still no developments.

I think that's generally about all I want to talk about.
I've spent several hours writing this. lol. I need to go and read some. See ya!
