As we walk through the mourning of Mo, I am super touched and grateful for all the support that has come our way. Friends, family and coworkers have all showered us with cards, gifts, words of support, hugs and love and concern. This moves me on a few levels. First of all – we need this extra TLC as we grieve the loss of a big part of our lives. Secondly, I appreciate that I am surrounded by...
As soon as I brought Mo home as a year old Border collie, I began to trust that dog's instincts and opinions of people. If Mo didn't like someone, I didn't like someone. If Mo approved, I trusted that fully. While watching Barack Obama's inauguration today, I said to myself "I think Mo would really like this guy". Later I read that the Obama's are going to adopt the Presidential dog from...
Summer 1992 - Thursday January 15th 2009 It was a sad sad week here as we slowly accepted that it was time to say so long to Mo, our best friend for going on 17 years. I think there is a sense that the older a dog (or person) is, the easier it will be to say good bye. I don't know about that theory anymore. I think after Mo passed the 15 year mark and continued to bounce back from health scares...
I am in post christmas hibernation mode - clocking about 11 hours of sleep a night, and spending more hours than not in pjamas during the day. Thank god for new Christmas pjamas, which make me feel like I'm somewhat presentable. I forgot about this part of the holidays. Perfection. The one area of activity in our house is nursing Mo, who is dealing with another round of vestibular disorder. After...

I'm home today and just heard on the radio that there was a major fire at the Oshawa Humane Society early this morning. Firefighters rescued 9 dogs and 2 cats, and these animals are being supported by other shelters. Unfortunately, almost 200 cats died in the fire. If you are on my "Present List" this year, you're going to get a donation in your name to your local animal shelter. I hope...
Even though yellow is a terrible colour on me, I still woudn't mind this t-shirt in my stocking this year - You can order the shirt online at BustMagazine's boobtique.
For our honeymoon, me and the Mr. went on a Love Boat cruise, and it was the most decadent, guilt inducing 9 days of our lives. We ate 6 meals a day, the ship's staffing policies required attention from Amnesty International , and the boat (which had a population 10x that of most of the islands we stopped at) dumped about a gazillion tonnes of waste into the ocean each and every day. It was...
