Overcoming Writer's Block By Rambling About A Fictional Universe No Else One Knows Or Cares About.

(Alternate title: "NERD.") Yeah. That's me. Inconsistencies in fiction bug me, and while I am much less anal about planning things out than I used to be, I was just thoroughly confused about the location of the Citadel World Negev. (Or, depending on your time frame, the failing Israeli colony Negev.) Still anal enough to do this, though: Yay for writing scifi, a grown up's excuse to play "Let's...

AIM again.

[10:43] Ryn Valyn: cnn.com: "How are you honoring Michael Jackson today?" [10:43] BadgerSensei: By playing Civ 4 and waging an aggressive (and successful) campaign to annihilate the Aztecs early on. [10:44] Ryn Valyn: *sniff* I'm sure... I'm sure he would have liked that. [10:44] BadgerSensei: It's a well known fact that the Aztecs hated Michael Jackson. [10:44] BadgerSensei: Pop music was against...

The Single Life, Day 2.

Welp. Feel okay. Very okay. As long as someone leaves me be, I should remain okay. I feel more strongly now that it was the right thing to do. The Boredom, however, is sinking in. The Boredom is one of two invasive moods that hit when I am newly single. (The other involves my hormones goin' nuts, and I'll leave it at that.) I'm suddenly hit with this huge reservoir of time that I didn't have before...

Work conversation.

(Coworker throws a bottle at trash can and misses. Josh picks it up and throws it out.) Coworker A: I think Josh got an assist. Er, no, Josh got the points and I got the assist. Coworker B: Yeah, Josh got the points. Josh: o.O Coworker B: You did a good thing. That's all you need to know.

I miss the good old days....

....When girls would break up with me, instead of the other way around. Broke up with Sarah. I'd been feelin' for a while that we were connecting on a fundamental level. I couldn't see myself with her forever. So I broke it off. Honorable and the best thing to do for both of us, right? Except I feel like an asshole.

The Watchening.

Up to Season 4 in Babylon 5. It's amazing the jump in production value the show gets each season... though it's possible that I might just have gotten used to crappy FX. Either way, the Shadows are actually intimidating, the Vorlons (Well, real-Kosh. Kosh's replacement is definitely a jerk.) are still awesome. Watched To Catch a Thief with Nate and my sis today. I like Hitchcock and I like Cary Grant...

Josh and the Church.

It has been a good many years since I regularly attended church. My roommate randomly suggested that I look for an Anglican church. I find this amusing, for several reasons. The last church I really felt at home in was, of all places, 800 miles away in Fort Walton Beach, FL. It was the church my ex and her family attended. I have been raised in Charismatic churches my whole life. I consider myself...

Book meme!

From arhyalon : This can be a quick one. Don't take too long to think about it. Fifteen books you've read that will always stick with you. First fifteen you can recall in no more than 15 minutes. 1. A Wrinkle in Time 2. My Side of The Mountain 3. The Robotech series. 4. Lord of the Rings. 5. The Golden Age, by John C. Wright 6. Hyperion/Fall of Hyperion by Dan Simmons. 7. Atlas Shrugged...
