Checking into recovery...I looked in the mirror and finally said to myself that I needed to check into the program. Even my mother vacationing in upstate New York, August '03 who I hurt so many times, questioned me, saying, "Can't you quit by yourself?" It was so hard checking in because I would be saying I was a failure, falling way short of everyone's expectations. What would my family think? What would my friends think...

Today in Palm Springs it's 55 degrees with a chance of rain. Yesterday afternoon we rode ATVs for the first time! So fun. I will definitely do it again. I don't have much time to write because we're supposed to be checked out by noon. After checking out we're going to have the special Christmas buffet at the casino... That was fun. It was also neat to see videos of different animals getting exams at the veterinary hospital. After the zoo we stopped at Westfield mall. I did some shopping at Macy's while Florian sat and read Barron's. He made me stop at Barnes & Noble so he could get that and the latest Economist. There were no...
