House passes bill on affordable health care - Mike McIntyre's vote

And I never received even a courtesy response to my letter. I will not be voting for him, again.

Remembrance Day

I consider it an honour and a blessing to have attended "Silence in the Square" in London on Nov 11, 2009. Much more to add on the subject, in a lengthy future journal post, but for the moment: OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!! I'm on Stephen Fry's twitter?!?! So much for "silence" in the square... My photos of Mark Knopfler and Stephen Fry (more later, inc. the band, Athlete): http://www.flickr.com...

"Calendar of Consolation" has arrived!!

Whew! I was annoying the bejesus out of the university post ladies all morning and I'm sure they were happy to see the back of me. Have learned that the origin of my having found this book for a few pounds stems from the fact that it was donated to a Samaritans charity sale - lucky lucky. Having perused the content I may report, to your shock and horror , that Leonard Woolf's "comforting ...

I know it's wrong; but it tastes so good!

By Twirlynoodle The majority of the British peoples have a cruel and dry sense of humour. Example 1: Found League of Gentlemen, Series 1 at the university library. Gleeful and joyous, I asked the librarian if I could take checked-out dvds out of the building. She said I could take any dvd out that wasn't marked with a piece of tape reading "reference". Climbed four flights of stairs ...

No more trips to Grafton Street, no more going there To see you lying still while we all come and go No more watching sunsets that seem like summer's holding on And no more standing quietly at your window No more driving down your road, wondering when you'll be home And no more peace when they all leave and leave us two alone And time we always lose is finally found here with you My love I know...

Tolkien-Treehugger Illustrations

Something pretty awful has happened. A few years ago I started drawing illustrations for a story, "In the Hall of the Wood Elf King" by Bethany Wilkins [ link ], a story beloved by me, written by a friend of mine. There were forty drawings, total, which I kept safe in a portfolio. One day I carried these drawings to another friend's house, I accidentally left them there. They have since ...
