Seeing stuff like thismakes me smile. The older I get, the more I realize how obnoxious I must have been when I was in undergrad. Not only did I know everything, I had to tell everybody - whether they wanted to hear it or not - all about my untested theories and shit my teachers told me, which just had to be fact. It becomes more obvious when I go back and read my writing for The Famuan. I have no idea how I ever got a job as a journalist. Lawd. And writing for Africana too? I thought I was the sheeeeeeeeeit! Of course, you couldn't tell me jack shit back then, because I was 18-21. I blame every one of you here for not telling me just how obnoxious I was. I can't say that I'm embarrassed by anything that I wrote (except for one piece that was pretty poorly edited), but I just wish that I'd shut up more. The "rattlerbrat" moniker is going to follow me around for the rest of my career. How do I know this?
