This blog's topic of the day:
Rain by Shel Silverstein
I opened my eyes And looked up at the rain, And it dripped in my head And flowed into my brain, And all that I hear as I lie in my bed Is the slishity-slosh of the rain in my head.
I step very softly, I walk very slow, I can't do a handstand-- I might overflow, So pardon the wild crazy thing I just said-- I'm just not the same since there's rain in my head.
I am convinced that Shel Silverstein was in Seattle when he wrote this. In fact, this explains everything in my brain, 'cause it's kinda drowning from Library classes. Too bad the rain in Spain doesn't stay in the plain, but seems to come to Seattle constantly. As proof there is too much rain, we have at least 4 different mushrooms in our yard the size of small dinner plates.
In fact, remember my car? (Who wouldn't remember that?) Well rust has started to develop rust on the exposed metal. Thank God for blessing me with my grandparents. My grandpa is going to help me take care of my car while my grandma is going to help take care of my empty stomach! :) Although my first two months here in Seattle seem a constant rush and it has been kinda difficult to adjust, I have been very blessed with family, friends, and new friends that have come into my life. God has given me many opportunities to help me adjust and to serve others. I've been able to go visit my Aunt and Uncle as well as some of my cousins.
I am very fortunate to have very nice roommates (all girls) in my daylight basement apartment. Above us (we're in a house about 4 blocks from UW campus NOT in Greek Row) there is a group of girls that always have a praise and worship group every Wednesday and Sunday. I figure, even if they are a little off tune, I am quite lucky at how quiet the house and neighborhood is. Periodically, though, we do get stray Fraternity or Sorority members on our block complaining about the lack of alcohol, but that is only on special occasions like homecoming, UW games, etc.
Overall, my room is pretty small, but it suits my needs. And for $450 a month including utilities, sharing a bathroom with only one other person: I have it great. (Seeing how I saw partial studio efficiencies going for $675 a month--the cheapest--and not including any utilities. One place you shared a kitchen with 8-10 other people.) So here's some pictures of my room:

Kinda simple, but it lets me live like a pauper now instead of later! Other events? Well I got a short time job at an architect firm , archiving past projects and it pays $12 an hour. Found a couple of good books to read and an excellent game to test your librarian skills. Oh, and I can't forget, I dressed up for Halloween and thanks to my aunt I had a great crown. See my picture below.

You can't see the name tag, but it says "Hello, My Name Is...Pain". That's right, I went as a royal pain! Har Har...
