Omg, it was the most amazing day of my life. So I'm going to attempt to tell most of the story.

We flew in from Dallas Love Field which is weird because it's tiny compared to DFW, the master of all airports pretty much. Then on the plane, reading the SkyMall full of ridiculous things no one would ever buy, we came across this...

...and it was obviously a sign! ;)

Thursday we slept in and went out to spend the whole day at the beach and at Belmont Park... rode the roller coaster, did blacklight mini golfing which turned more into a blacklight photo shoot rather than playing the game...

When we were at the beach, a random person asked us if we wanted a pic of all 4 of us so we got a couple good ones:

But of course we were super excited about the real reason we were there... so we had to do this:

Also, how cool is it that it's called Belmont Park? Umm, super cool. So we went there.

Then was the blacklight pirate mini golfing, where my friend and I just posed with all of the inanimate objects.. example:

Thursday night we all dyed our hair for the hell of it, so in the pictures from here on out I am no longer blonde, which was really crazy at first because I've never dyed my hair before.

And then Friday, we went to In-N-Out because apparently it's amazing and you can only get it on the west coast.

Along the way, we passed this amazing car. Yeahh Texas!!

And then we walked around some more at the beach and the boardwalk. You know in movies when someone's having a terrible day and they're walking along the sidewalk, a car comes by and drives through a puddle and splashes them? THAT HAPPENED TO US. We were on our way back to our hotel to get ready for the concert and we got soaked from a car that drove through a puddle of disgusting construction worker water. All I could think of is how grateful I was that that didn't happen on the way to the concert. Yikes!

So we got ready and got excited (I almost walked out of the hotel room without the tickets LOL). So then we waited at the bus stop which we got on on the WRONG side of the street.

We had left in plenty of time so we still made it to the fan event at Oggi's Pizza but we were about 15 minutes late. They gave away a million signed prizes but none of us managed to win anything. I would have liked a signed lyric sheet! Lol, oh well.

We took a cab to the concert and of course had to take pictures of every sign we saw... but I'll just give you one:

Upon taking pictures outside, we were warned that we could not bring cameras into the concert venue, so my friends left their 2 cameras at the hotel front desk and I got mine in in my pocket. No way I was going to the meet and greet without a camera!

I was in the front row and couldn't take pictures because there were 2 ushers standing right there. I could probably go on and on about how amazing the concert was... but I'll just highlight a few of my favorite moments :)

-Idina going on and on about how pretty the water was
-My favorite line of the night: "I think someone in Santa Barbara got me sick. I need to stop tongue kissing all of my fans."
-Idina insisting that Taye was not there even though he was clearly sitting in the 11th row next to girls freaking out that he was sitting next to them
-ROXANNE. If I could pick one song for her to cover, it might be that one. It was amazing. She did some nice headbanging :D lol
-A cute little boy going up to the stage giving her flowers, and someone who asked for a hug and had an awkward edge of the stage hug that lasted for quite some time. *jealous*

I'm still wondering why she sung Brave in Eb/key change to F instead of what it is on the CD, D/key change to E... strange.

Sadly, this is the best picture I got. It was during Defying Gravity and I just decided to go for it even though ushers were right there.

It didn't really hit me until the concert was over that I was going to meet her. I bought the purple "eggplant" shirt and then waited with the other meet and greeters to get our fun little VIP passes which of course I will be keeping for a very long time.

I was third in line to meet her and I'm not gonna lie, I was freaking out a little. Before the first people went in, we could see Taye and Idina in the room and they looked like they were having an argument. Not trying to start anything ;)

We went in and I told her that we had come from Texas and she said "Oh I think I'm coming to Texas this summer" but Burt corrected her and said not this summer... so that gives me hope for the fall? Next year? Who knows. She said she didn't think anyone knew who she was in Texas and I said "Oh we do!" and she said something along the lines of, "I'll just come to your house or something, we can have dinner" and I was like "OKAY!!!" :) hehe.

I didn't bring any of my sheet music to show her; I didn't know what she would think of it. Though I should have told her that if she needed a keyboard player to let me know! I know all the songs already!

I'm so glad the picture turned out good. :D And that I was able to form sentences when I met her. Overall it was such an amazing night and so well worth the trip out to San Diego. So now, since I had to get up at 5 this morning to catch my flight back to Dallas, I slept 3 hours last night, and I must go to bed now.

Stay classy, San Diego!!
