... with my seagull feather (taken from a state park and yourbob almost had a heart attack cuz apparently it's a crime to remove feathers from state parks, go figure) from the JayCon road trip (when the seagulls attacked me for the chicken nuggets) and my black and blue crow feather. safewrite tells me she has a blue jay feather. Don't let Bob know if you got it from a state park!

Writers of the Future Report, Part 1

...pleased with it. That barely scratched the surface of the entire experience...more when I have time. In Other News My short story, "The Pinocchio Cantatas", appears in Tales of the Unanticipated #28, 2007 (the Heroes issue). safewrite has given me a date for when my novelette, "Metamorphoses in Amber", is scheduled to appear at Abyss & Apex : #24, 4th Quarter (December) 2007.

My writing group rocks!

...it is? It's a poster. Of an old-fashioned British colonial map of Siam. And today they gave me their feedback on the revised version of "The Mapmaker's Husband," a story about the making of maps and war, written during my time at Clarion. How oddly prescient is that? And so thank you Bill Freedman, safewrite , Ken Altabef, Eric Joel Bresin, and Kat Hankinson. You guys are the best!
