1. This is a Trio-Era Roleplay in the Trio's 7th year. The RolePlay itself is thread and YIM (Yahoo! Messenger) / MSN (Windows Live Messenger) based.

2. This an alternative universe community, meaning we have altered canon starting from Harry's fifth year. Please read the group description for 
more information and get in touch with the mods, should you have any questions about the background and plot. 

3. 16+ please, as a general rule. Younger players who are literate and mature enough to deal with the themes of the game are welcome to apply.

4. We are slash, femmeslash and het friendly. Explicit sex, in all shapes, forms, and kinks is permitted in this RPG, but it must be kept well within 
the context of the plot/subplot. 

5. Original characters are welcome! 

6. NO GODMODDING. The mods here cannot stress this rule enough. You are responsible for your character(s) and your character(s) only. You cannot 
control other characters without asking the player, first. That means you can’t kill them off, you can’t make them go places/do things that they haven’t 
RPed themselves. However, if you think you see god modding going on in the RP, don’t go ballistic on that person and call a town meeting. 
The supposed “god modder” most likely asked the other player for permission. If another player is manipulating your character without your permission, 
bring it to the mods.

7. No OOC drama! Please play nice! Flames and the like are not welcome here. Respect all the players and Mods. Please keep all fighting in-character. 
Problems with other players should be kept out of the game. Also, any conflicts between IN GAME characters should not be taken personally. 
Just because your characters don't get along does not mean that the other player hates you. It just means that there is no way Bellatrix is ever going to 
invite Neville for a cup of tea and the crumpets. If you have a problem with another player, or if you think someone is treating you unfairly, 
avoid taking matters into your own hands and contact the mods. We will do our best to mediate and try to solve the problem.

8. To join us, you must fill out ALL portions of the application.

- When filling out an application, please be descriptive. Applications are judged on descriptiveness, your motivation, sticking to the game plot, 
knowing the character and bringing out their personality to the fullest, as well as your writing skill.

9. Rping is done in descriptive third character past tense. Absolutely NO L33T or Netspeak in any RPG posts! Please use proper English!

10. Each person is allowed to take a maximum of four characters each.

11. There are a few extra rules that apply to original characters:

- Once your membership has been accepted, you are required to send your original character bio within one week of your acceptance to the mods. 
If you do not follow this rule, we WILL take your name off of our member list and you will have to reapply.

- Your original character MUST have a play-by and avatar/icon or any other image to go along with that person. Manips are welcome. 
For those that don't know, a play-by, or PB, is a celebrity/actor/musician/etc. that the player uses to base character's physical description on and 
they should resemble your character. They are the embodiment of your character, as we all know what Harry and Draco look like, but this is not the case 
with the original characters. 

- Your original character bio and at least one image of that character must be also added to the Files section.


12. Please stay as in-character as possible. We realize that as the characters grow older, they change and develop, but do not over-exaggerate this.

13. In order to keep this RPG alive and running, you are required to post at least once per week in the group. If you are unable to do this, you MUST 
contact the mods either via YIM or by emailing at shadowsinthenightmods@yahoo.com. You get 3 strikes on this one. The first time, you'll get a warning. 
The second will get your character put up for re-casting. The third will get you banned from the group.
If you know you will be absent for longer than two weeks, you must tell the mods so that any plot ramifications can be dealt with.

14. In each thread you post, please include an introductory section in following format:
Who:
Where:
When:
What (optional):
Why (optional):
Warnings, if any:

15. Crazy story lines are always fun. Don't feel restrained, be creative! Subplots and plot twists are encouraged as long you do not alter the general 
game plot. Major plots that affect more than 3 players or change the course of the game, etc, ought to be reviewed with a mod first for permission. 
No ifs or buts about it. 

16. Communication is the key. Your Mods are open-minded and easygoing people. We're here to guide the game, not rule it with an iron fist. 
Plot suggestions, desired characters and changes will be listened to and implemented if possible.

17. Let’s be professional. If you’re leaving the RP, inform a mod first before making an OOC announcement.

18. We, the Mods, hold the right to change these rules with sufficient warning.
