::rules::
1. Keep the drama in the game. We’re all here to have fun; we don’t want to see harassment of players or OOC drama anywhere. If you and another player are not getting along, speak to the mods about it. This goes for the journals, the chats, and anything having to do with Project Daisychain. On that same note, bear in mind that you are not your character. IC drama and fighting will happen—it can be fun and interesting if everyone keeps in mind that IC does not equal OOC.
2. Please make an effort to show your best quality writing in this game. It’s only as much fun as you put into it. This does not mean we’re looking for perfection in all your posts—it means you should tailor your writing to fit your character and make a decent effort at grammar and spelling. Keep in mind when writing third-person logs with another player to give something of substance for your fellow player to react to. First-person journal entries should be as close to your character’s voice as you can make them—great spelling and grammar are not necessary in first person if it doesn’t fit your character.
3. Think before you post, and consider the consequences of your character’s actions. A character traipsing around in Central Park or trying his luck at swimming off the island should not be surprised if Big Mommy shows up none-too-pleased. For a less extreme example, a character who decides to grope another character unexpectedly might get a punch in the face. Talk to your fellow players in IMs or e-mails to hash out issues ahead of time and make sure you’re all on the same page. And remember, under no circumstances is god-moding acceptable. This means controlling another character without the player’s permission. If you want to add another character’s action to your post, no matter how small, make sure you have the permission of that character’s player—or just don’t do it.
4. Do not leave people hanging in your threads. In a two-person thread, five days should be the absolute longest period of time you go without posting, unless there are special circumstances (a vacation, an illness, etc). In threads with more than two people, post within two or three days. Threads with lots of people can get dragged out forever if someone is delaying an update. Keep up with your posts, or don’t be surprised if the people you’re threading with go on without you. And please put “It’s going to be the best night ever” at the end of your application so we know you read these rules.
5. Post at least once a week, whether it be a new journal entry or a post in a thread. Please let us know if you will be going on vacation or unavailable for any extended period of time. Hiatuses are available for up to a month. Keep up regularly with the game or your character will be removed; please don’t apply for anyone you don’t intend to play with.
6. Players are currently limited to five characters overall, and only two from the same canon. We encourage a variety of characters and canons in Project Daisychain.
7. Mark your threads with a warning if they contain R-rated content such as sex and excessive violence. The mods will not be held responsible for anything adult-themed that you don’t want to see—it’s the responsibility of the players to mark their content appropriately and read the warning labels. |
