Abbey went to her first KU football game last night! I suppose it went about as well as I expected. It was fun to hang out with Dr Rundquist, but I really didn't get to pay any attention to the game. As usual, Abbey just wanted to explore and climb and move, move, move! The best part was her abuse of the people in front of us. The kicking, hitting, and attempted schmearings with granola bar were frightening albeit somewhat amusing. The poor old dude had hit hat kicked clean off! I don't think he was entirely mad, which he could have been. We were just so close together that everytime I picked her up, she'd kick her legs and that was that.
But she did get into it some and we made it through half time. She loved that band and even figured out how to clap along with the fight song a couple of times. She seemed amused by the cheerleaders and yell leaders - are people suppose to flip around like that?
Other news from yesterday: Abbey completed her summer reading program booklet! We turned in her list and got some swell coupons for around town, a certificate suitable for framing, some stickers and stuff, and a free book! Yay for Abbey who sat through many, many books this summer like a pro!!! And special thanks to MeMe II, Leona, and Dr Rundquist for supplying 99% of the books in Abbey's private collection.
That's another bit of news. Abbey seems to have named Mom and Dad and she seems to have named them MeMe and DeDe. Mom seems satisfied with MeMe (that is what I call Mom's Mom) but I think we could work a little more on DeDe...
Abbey has added more words...
Duck (in the bathtub with her rubber duckie army) Up Go No Please (thanks to Miss Cindy) Cindy Linley
But still most frequently used:
Buh bye Yum yum Uh oh!
I need to write them all down so I know how many words. Why? So I can use the number to compete with other parents, of course!
Also, starting to used Shutterfly. And it's way better than Flickr.
That is all. Buh bye. KB |
