Ariel Shay. I had a middle name once. But man, I don't even use my first name, who cares about my middle name?

Dad: Patrick Michael "Papa Shay" Shay
Occupation: Children's book author.
Personality: Very goodnatured, extremely good dad. God, I miss him.
Female parental unit: Elsa Ingrid Jensen
Occupation: Housewife/Hellbeast.
Personality: I hated her. I hated her so much. Do I have to talk about her?
Step-father: Dr. Ian Longerberger.
Occupation: Psychiatrist.
Personality: Bland. Bland bland.
And they're all dead.
4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
I had five half-siblings, David, Alessa, Lara, Michelle, and Ralph. They're all dead, too. David was the oldest, he was just about to leave home. He never got the chance. Ralph was born after I left home. I didn't know him.
5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
I live aboard the Argama! It's a ship, kinda like the White Base in the OYW, except of course, it's updated for the times. The people? They're a strange bunch. Do I have to describe them all? Okay, I'll just describe the people I either care about or hate:
Kyle Frost: Aw, my honey bun princess of an assassin snuggle bunny.
Hikaru Tomeii: She's my lesbian robot bestie!
Cyan Greene: The crankiest insomniac mechanic that I'm proud to call my friend.
Johnny Ridden: He's a good guy, just a little misguided sometimes.
Mara Romano: Tomeii's psycho girlfriend. Ah, that's mean to say. She's alright, I guess.
Farrah Maeru: The little Newtype girl that could!
Zero: Farrah's kind of adorable boyfriend, with a strange affection for pudding and ducks.
Anishi, Cactus, Rosie, and the rest of the Newtype clone kids: THEY'RE AWESOME and I love them so much.

6. What is your occupation?
Lieutenant Commander in the AEUG.

Oh, WELL, I'm a drop dead gorgeous babe~~! ...uh, really... I'm 5'11", 160 lbs, Irish/Scandanavian. I've got blonde hair, blue eyes, and if I didn't have to wear a uniform all the time, I don't know what kind of clothes I'd wear. Something comfy. T-shirts and jeans, mostly. I don't have any tattoos, sometimes I wish I did, but I do have my ears pierced. Unless it's a special occassion, I normally just wear black stud earrings. Scars... mm, I've got a few. Not nearly as many as Frosty, but then again, none of his are self-inflicted. That's a sad chapter of my past and I don't like to dwell on it anymore. Distinguishing marks? Not really. But since you didn't ask, I'll tell you I'm a 38-DD. At least I've got wonderfully supportive undergarments! Umm... and I have a nice ass. HEY, it asked for a FULL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION. ...so I had to put both of those facts in.
8. To which social class do you belong?
Growing up? Middle class. My dad wasn't especially rich, and the divorce was pricy. While my step-dad made a considerable chunk of change, there were 5 kids in the family by the time I left, and one replaced me. Now, I've got all my basic needs taken care of, so I'm not really in a class, so to speak.
9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
I had mono when I was a teenager. Uh. No serious physical things. My cholestrol's probably a little high, like, 339,687. But um, mental? There's a few screws floating around loose in my noggin.
10. Are you right- or left-handed?

11. What does your voice sound like?
It's kinda deep for a girl. But not manly! And I usually sound pretty friendly and cheerful, unless I'm mad at you... or the world's just come crashing down around me.
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
I swear, but not as much as Tomeii used to.
13. What do you have in your pockets?
My wallet, ID, some cash, lint.
14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
I'm obsessed with burgers. Obsessed. And if I get mad, I have a tendancy to wait until the offender and I are alone and then slap them silly. And I'm a recovering alcoholic... always will be, since that's the way those things work.
Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Until about age 6, it was fine.
16. What is your earliest memory?
The ceiling in my nursery. Papa Shay painted baby cartoon-ish lions on it.
17. How much schooling have you had?
Elementary school, middle school, high school, college, OCS.
18. Did you enjoy school?
Eh.
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
I learned to play guitar from Papa Shay when I was little. He taught me most everything I ever needed to know, as well. I learned how to be a bitch from my mother. I learned kindness and compassion not only from my dad, but from by best friend, Amy Cralley. I learned how to pilot from various teachers, but I learned how to be a GOOD pilot from Johnny.
20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
My dad, if you didn't already figure that out. Various rock stars. Women who kicked ass.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
Ugh. Well. Let's just say I DIDN'T get along with anyone but my dad.
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A musician.
23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Singing and playing the guitar. I was in a band for a little while. Karmic Revenge. Heh, we rocked. I also loved sports. I was on track team some years, soccer others. Basketball was another hobby. Never was too much into baseball, but I liked watching it and hockey with my dad.
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I was kinda brash and stubborn, but I was super friendly. WHOA, DID I CHANGE OR WHAT. ...That was sarcasm. As a teenager, I was pretty reckless and depressed.
25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
I was well loved by my peers, for a while, yeah. Especially the boys in middle school, since I was one of the first girls to develop a rack. That was kinda embarassing. And the girls started to get envious, but eh, whatever. High school was kinda rough. Bleh.
26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
The first one that meant anything was Amy, when I was 14.
27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
No. I was 16, and his name was...crap. I can't even remember. I was drunk off my ass at a party. I wouldn't exactly call it rape, but...well. I was smashed. How could it have really been consentual? Amy got mad at me. That hurt.
28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
Oh, boy. Everything in the past has led to where I am now. How can I even begin? The biggest thing in my life was the death of my family in Operation Stardust. If not for that, I would have never buckled down and started flying straight. Actually, it was right after that, when my options were "die" or "get revenge." Heh.
Part 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
I just told you. I guess there's been a few, really. Being born was one, my parent's divorce was another, my totally botched suicide attempt was the third, and getting into the Academy was pretty important too. When my family died, I was chosen as a Titan. That was a big deal then, but now it seems... mm.
30. Who has had the most influence on you?
Papa Shay.
31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I've actually done more than I thought I ever would, so there's a few things I could say. Graduating from college was pretty big. Deciding to stop drinking was also huge.
32. What is your greatest regret?
I don't regret anymore, not seriously, anyway.
33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
Oo. Um. Evil? I'm not really all that evil. I slapped Romano around a bit after she let Tomeii get hurt. That wasn't very evil, just mean.
34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
Nope... though that doesn't mean I've never broken the law, obviously.
35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
Thinking about it, I was terrified when we were in that Titan base and Frost was bleeding out all over the place. I'm really, really glad he didn't die.
36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
Ahahaha, I have no shame!
37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
No, I wouldn't change a thing. I am who I am because of my past.
38. What is your best memory?
Playing guitar in the garage with my dad.
39. What is your worst memory?
Don't make me pick, please.
Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Oh, optimistic, to a point. Or at least, I have been lately. Even when everything seems hopeless.
41. What is your greatest fear?
I'd say it already came true once or twice. But losing people I care about, that gets me everytime.
42. What are your religious views?
I was raised a God-fearing Irish Catholic. Now? God doesn't scare me as much as the people He made do and the situations they create. I'm agnostic, if anything.
43. What are your political views?
Ah. I used to think the Federation was correct, that they could do no wrong. I've since changed.
44. What are your views on sex?
My... views on sex. Um. I like it very much.
45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
Sure, I'm able to kill. I have and I will and I probably will continue to do so for quite a while. It's part of the job description. Unacceptable? Slaughter of any sort is pretty damn bad.
46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Betraying the one they love most.
47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Yeah, I do.
48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Lots of love. You don't have to be happy all the time, just as long as you understand that allowing yourself to wallow in a pit of despair isn't the way to fix anything. Money's not that important, but if you're financially well off, it might add to your comfort.
49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I am so honest sometimes I bet some people wish I would just shut up!
50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
I used to have a bunch. You couldn't really go through '83 without thinking that all Zeeks were coldblooded bastards. Maybe that's why I didn't get along with Johnny too well at first. But I've since to shed my prejudice again Spacenoids, since almost all of my friends are of the Spacenoid variety.
51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
Hm. Ask me this a while ago and I would have said I refuse to defect. So I suppose, really, there isn't anything sacred. However, I do refuse to do the thing I consider most evil.
52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
Holy crap. My friends. All of my friends. I'd gladly stick out my neck for anyone I love.
Part 5: Relationships With Others
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I'm pretty open and friendly with everyone, unless they've given me a reason to not like them. Even then, they can win my favor back by showing I was wrong. People like Aznable, however, could never do such a thing even if they tried.
54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
He's dead. So I'd have to say Frost is. Heh, I know, typical girl, saying her S.O. is the most important person. But really. We have kind of a bond, I guess the closest us Oldtypes can get to knowing what Newtypes do everyday. I think it comes from having been the only thing that held him to the mortal world when he was slumped against a wall bleeding to death. And now we're just a good team.
55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
I respect Mr. Folla, and I respect Johnny. He may be an idiot jerkwad sometimes, but he always follows what he thinks is the right thing without hesitation, and I think that's kinda noble.
56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
I kinda already described them!
57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
If you don't know, you have NOT BEEN PAYING ATTENTION. Kyle Frost is my very significant other, and he's quite the gentleman. He's so good with the kids on board, and apparently he can garden, too! Also, due to his line of work, he's forgotten more about killing people than I'll ever know. You don't fuck with my Frosty.
58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
I fall into lust a lot! But yeah, I've been in love a few times. I... do I really have to describe them?
59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
Ah, I'm not real picky as long as they respect me and treat me well. (And are hot.)
60. How close are you to your family?
Uh.
61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
Hee~~ I would love to have a bunch of kids. And a dog, just a good ol' mutt. Sometimes I wonder if I'd be a good mom, and then I realize, I know exactly what NOT to do, so I wouldn't do it! Frost had a daughter, though she died when Side 6 got nuked...I think he'd make a good dad again! It seems like we've already sort of adopted Rosie, one of the Newtype clone kids, since we gave her the name in the first place.
62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
Depends. I know I can turn to Frost for anything, but if for some reason he wasn't around, Greene, Tomeii or Johnny would be my next choice.
63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
I do. I trust any of my teammates. Though I don't usually need protecting!
64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
I should hope lots of people!!
65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
My mother and Aznable tie for bitch and bastard of the Universal Century. My mother because she hated me in return simply because I was BORN, and Aznable because he's one of the most twisted scumbags I've ever had the displeasure of meeting.
66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I argue up a storm.
67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
I like being second banana, thanks.
68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
Sure! Parties are great fun.

To an extent.
Part 6: Likes And Dislikes
70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
Eating burgers, watching TV, hanging out with my friends, doing mock battles in the simulators. I miss playing sports, though.
71. What is your most treasured possession?
I don't have many possessions. My earrings, 'cause my dad gave them to me. But I don't hold much value in material things.
72. What is your favorite color?
Dark green, yellow, red crimson (teehee, shout out to Johnny), silver... I like a lot of colors.
73. What is your favorite food?
Cheeseburgers!
74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Lots of books from the Middle Ages. They had some great stuff back then. My favorite book is called Catch-22.
75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
Anything that's not boring?
76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
I used to drink like a fish, but I quit. Alcohol had been an escape from my problems for too long, and I just had to face them sooner or later or die of liver damage.
77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
I don't even remember what day of the week it is anymore!!
78. What makes you laugh?
Mm, lots of things. Good jokes, especially.

Mindless wholesale slaughter of "innocents."
80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
Insomnia is my BITCH. And I am its unmerciful mistress. KNEEL BEFORE ME, INSOMNIA AND LICK MY BOOTS BECAUSE I KNOW YOU LOVE IT, YOU SICK FUCK. -- Uh. I need lots of sleep or I go crazy. So I guess if it's late at night and I'm not sleeping, I'm otherwise occupied.
81. How do you deal with stress?
Mr. Punchy knows. And hm, sex is a good way to let out pent up frustrations.
82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
Spontanenousity is my middle name! Ariel Spontaneousity Shay! Actually, no. My middle name is SAFETY. Ariel SAFETY Shay.
83. What are your pet peeves?
When people try to kill themselves or give up on their lives. DON'T DO THAT, PEOPLE. It's bad.
Part 7: Self Images And Etc.
84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
My routine normal day is wake up, take a shower, get dressed, go eat, do my work, then lounge around for hours. If the day is disrupted, it's usually by a battle, and that means OHSHIT people are gonna die. So I feel a little stressed.
85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
Tenacity! Resiliency! And I'm an extremely loyal friend.
86. What is your greatest weakness?
Mood swings and temper.
87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Hmm...nah, I like me.
88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Extroverted. Insanely extroverted.
89. Are you generally organized or messy?
Organization is for chumps and Christina Adler.

I'm okay at piloting, I'm good at being a friend, and I'm good in bed. I am bad at...lots of things. I'm bad at keeping my temper under control, I'm bad at letting go most of the time, and I'm bad at not daydreaming.

Sure, to an extent.

I'm not an adventurer. I'm not really that strange and heroic either. I'm just trying to survive, y'know?

I wanna be a mommy~

For now, I'm hoping to live that long!
