Faire was wonderful yesterday! The weather was temperate, both Kat AND Noel came with, and we managed to get there around lunchtime (which is amazingly early to us). Many good friends were seen and hung out with, including [info]uofirob and [info]wickedlyobvious (who we got to purchase a beautiful corset), [info]jcovcova and [info]unhipster (who we got to purchase a beautiful corset), [info]lverhulst (who we at least convinced to try on a beautiful corset), [info]atlanticat (who gave me a drive-by hugging and disappeared with her mom), [info]songs_of_winter and [info]napoleonkomplex and [info]traveler1567 (my favorite Faire family, even if Kendall is horrid at being ladylike), [info]aimee_darling and [info]deusinnomen (who asked me to be his best man at his wedding! I love those guys!), [info]911sc (who now finally exists after having given up his second job) and a handful of others who are currently slipping my mind. We totally missed [info]trollbrian and his family, sadly, but it's not like we don't get to see him every week.

There was good foodage, enjoyable musicage (I do likes me them bagpipers), and a really disturbing showing of Spoonerism (Chris, help me with the name here). There is a fellow who does jokes and stories using reversed syllables (so little red riding hood becomes a gittle lurl named Red Hiding Rood who was falking in the worest...), and he also has a little ukelele or some other tiny stringed instrument. He was talking about hollywood strangeness (he was noting that Brad Pitt did not consult him when naming his daughter Shiloh Pitt...) and he happened to play the opening of the Star Trek theme. Suddenly, from around the back of the stage (this was the one in the middle of what used to be the fair entrance) come two fellows in Star Trek uniforms! He was flabbergasted, we were flabbergasted, he did play it off well though, and teased them mercilessly when they came wandering by later with the rest of their 10 or so compatriots! Kat never did get around to tracking them down so she could walk up and state forcefully "You are NOT merry men!" Too bad, it would have been quite the amusing.

We came home and changed, I poked kitty until she agreed to come out for dinner, and most of the people mentioned in the first paragraph went out to Red Robin for some great burgers and excellent Garlic Fries, and much conversation and hilarity ensued. We finally broke up about 30min after Red Robin wanted to close, and headed off our separate ways. It was a good day.

Today has been all errand-running and stuff. I picked up the Potter book, I plan to let Kat read it first because she hates spoilers, and I want her to be able to read the intarwebs again. :)
