Will a barrier prevent the next Great Disaster?

news update: San Francisco, CA October 2008 The infamous golden gate bridge will get a makeover, adding a $40-$50 million suicide barrier. Hundreds of people attempt suicide on the GG bridge every year. Many citizens, supervisors, local and state politician supported the barrier while many families of those who committed suicide ask why wasn't this built earlier. My question i pose is why...
