1. This post is kind of fantastic. I mostly think it's fantastic because I like to play a little game called "If this character was male, would they be more popular?" when I read comics. It is second only to my game of "If this character were a woman, people would hate them."

My favorite characters to do this with are:

A. Batman ("The most unrealistic Mary Sue ever created! All she needs is enough time to plan and she can beat the entire Justice League? Without a solitary superpower? The Sueiest Sue to end all Sues!")

B. Black Canary (The whole unfortunate story line about misusing her powers wouldn't exist. Period. And there is no way in hell the Justice League storyline with her as the chairman would have ended the way it did. As for fanon? The respect and adoration that Batman gets, she'd get, without people Madonna/Whore-ing her costume.)

C. Iron Man. (The people who have been so staunchly defending Tony's actions in Civil War and beyond? I find it very hard to believe they'd care that much if he was a she. Maybe some, but certainly not all.)

D.  Hawkeye. (No, really. Make Clint a woman. She'd be lucky if "slut" was the worst thing anyone ever said about her. Especially if you look at his her early Avengers issues where Clint spends the entire time trying to take over Steve's spot in leading the Avengers. "It wasn't bad enough the slut tried to take Cap's position, they pushed Luke Cage aside for the bitch, too? Christ, what makes her so special? She's just a chick with a bow, anyway! What were they thinking!" )

E. Starfire. (Cute, red-headed, male, and not sexually uptight? If Kory were male, she'd be Fandom's Darling as much as Roy is. I once had a conversation where someone was arguing about poor, poor Dick and how "loose" Kory has always been. Rather than scream about how it's not 1950 and no one should ever use that word to describe a woman, I pointed out that Dick has screwed more than double the people Kory has, and that if anyone should be described as loose, it sure as hell isn't Kory.)

F. Wonder Woman. (LOL. She'd have a real movie by now, and not a shitty, out of character cartoon. Also, since Clark has conversations with Batman all the time where he puts down Bruce's ability to deal with people and only gets slashed with Bruce in return, I suspect that Trinity issue where Diana mocked Bruce's ability to deal with people would not have made people so angry at Wonder Woman, had she been a "he." And people would feel free to write Wonder Woman/Superman slash because, of course, it's not doing Lois some fictional disservice if Superman is fucking another guy.)

G. Tim Drake.  ("God, why can't she just get over herself already? Her boyfriend has apologized a billion times about faking being dead, and Stephan Brown was tortured with a drill! It's not like she ran off for fun!  And look at the way she treated Dick! Where does the bitch get off being so emo when everyone is trying to help him? No wonder Kon picked Cassie over her. I would too!")

And...I'll end the list before I get started on Star Trek. ;)

2. People should leave prompts for [info]smallfandomfest. You don't have to write a fic if you leave a prompt. The guide for what qualifies as a small fandom is slightly more sane than Yuletide's very nebulous standards, and most comic book fandoms qualify.

3. Cero and I have a big bang due tomorrow. It is 106 pages. 106 pages of edits. I weep. (yes, others have longer big bangs. I'm weeping about my 106 pages. ;) )

4. Meme time.

01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?

[info]a_trill gave me NCIS, Star Trek, and DC:

NCIS:

01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?

You can blame [info]cero_ate for that one.

Allow me to quote:

[info]pervyficgirl: How long do you think you argued with me to watch NCIS?
[info]cero_ate: Ah....two weeks?
[info]cero_ate: maybe?
[info]cero_ate: you've kinda got to the point when I say new fandom, you give it a try
[info]pervyficgirl: *laughs.*
[info]pervyficgirl: *is well trained*?
[info]cero_ate: Just I have an AWESOME record for finding fandoms you'll love

True.  Very, very true. *G*

02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?

For the time being at least. I'm very fond of  it.

03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?

Haha. How about any episode that makes me cry? Except that doesn't narrow it down at all. My favorite episodes tend to be the ones that focus on the women, because those are my favorite characters. But I'm pretty fond of SWAK, Twilight, Kill Ari I & II, Yankee White (oh, hello there, my het OTP), Undercovers, Dog Tags, Hiatus I & II, Judgment Day I & II,  Chimera, and Grace Period.

04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?

I watch and I read, so far. I have one half-finished fic, and several ideas for fic. I'm not sure if I'll ever get around to actually writing them, but it is one of the possibilities for one of the ficathons I am doing, so maybe.

05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?

YES. IT HAS AWESOME WOMEN. And also, more people should totally write het and femslash, because this is totally my het and femslash fandom. ;)

Star Trek:

01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?

Oh, god. I was four, my sister was watching TOS reruns on TV. I watched with her. I may have vaguely thought Spock was a Thundercat. I was kind of hooked from the start.

02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?

Well, I've been loving it since four, and reading it since 13, so....

03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?

Episodes: "Devil in the Dark," "Yesterday's Enterprise," "The Visitor," "Non Sequitur," "Terra Prime."
Books: Best Destiny, My Brother's Keeper, Prime Directive.
Movies: The Wrath of Khan, The Voyage Home, and Star Trek (Reboot)

04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?

HAHA. Oh, just a little. Enterprise was my introduction to fandom, and I've been writing some Reboot fic lately, too. (Did I mention 106 pages?)

05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?

Everyone should know and love Trek. I am a little suspicious of people who do not.

DC:

01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?

Well, my inability to find any good Clark/Dick fics prompted me to write my own. That began the ficcishness. (OTP!) As for what got me into comics in the first place, Superman comic shared with a boy in my 1st grade glass. *pets him.* I read his comic, he played with my He-Man toys. ;)

02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?

Oh, there are always things I dislike, but I think that's the nature of comics. There are comics that I *love* so I'm not quite ready to abandon ship yet.

03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?

Ahahaha.

Series: Lonely Place of Dying arc, the post-Bruce Jones' OYL run of Nightwing, New Teen Titans, Flash: Fastest Man Alive 7-13, Impulse, The Long Halloween, JLA: Year One, A League of One, Dark Victory, Chuck Dixon's run of Birds of Prey, Geoff Johns' run of JSA, Brubaker's Catwoman, Barry Allen's Flash comics...

Movies: Batman Begins, Superman I & II.

04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?

Oh, just a little.

05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?

I know it's an unpopular answer lately, but yes. ;)
