My name is Reed Front, and I am a vampire. I was turned while I was in college by my fiance, Contessa Brittany. After graduation, we built a house together to live in for eternity-- being immortal does tend to allow one to accumulate wealth...

It was the beginning of my new, very long life.

Brittany and I married not long after moving in-- many of our friends and family came out to celebrate, including two other vampires-- a college roommate that Brittany had turned, and another lover I had turned.

I was so pleased that my family did not shy away from celebrating my union, even if they were all a bit scared of my new bride.

We were so happy.

During our reception, I spent some time with the other two-- Sunny and Aiyana. Aiyana had been a lover of mine in college and even though I had just wed Brittany, I felt a strong attraction take over. I wondered if Brittany perhaps felt the same way about Sunny... Even I felt some attraction for Sunny as well.

After the party, I spoke openly with my wife about the idea of starting our own coven, right in the heart of Veronaville. I believed we could make it work, and we were all fledglings, with he exception of my wife. We should stick together. Although, I realize now, it was my lust talking.

To my surprise, she agreed.

We had the money to do it comfortably, after all. I was thrilled.

/>A few days nights later, I called both women and asked them to come over so we could discuss the matter.

Sunny, whose name I always chuckled at, took some persuading...

But Aiyana was on board from the start.

And thus, our little coven was born.

Being the only male vampire in a house of ladies had its advantages. Luckily, Brittany was not the jealous type.

In fact, she held some of her own... affections... for the girls.

And they held affections for each other. In fact, I considered them all my wives in a way, and they considered themselves sister-wives.

Brittany was the leader, a bit more stern and tradition, which made sense. She'd been around for centuries.

Aiyana was the outgoing, spunky wife.

And Sunny was my quiet little philosopher.

Sometimes, Sunny's sensitivity made her the butt of jokes, but for the most part, our home was peaceful and full of love.... and then some.

But eventually, the inevitable happened. All three of my wives got pregnant around the same time. Whoever says vampires cannot have offspring reads too many Anne Rice books. In any case, our children were born not long after.

Viktor, my son with Brittany.

Vlad, my son with Sunny.

And Zora, my little girl, with Aiyana.

Naturally, we could not care for our children alone, as we could not be up with the son, even in our windowless home. We brought in a mortal woman, Nerissa, to care for the babes.

Although, her curiosity got the best of her sometimes.

For this, my wives resented her a bit.

I, on the other hand, could not resist her charms. It'd been so long since I had been with a mortal woman...

My little affair angered Brittany. She had consented to her sister-wives, but not this mortal.

I assured her I would never again take a lover without her consent.

Although we made up, she continued to harbor some resentment about the whole ordeal.

Her sister-wives, being younger and more open, found her reaction a tad over the top, and Aiyana and Sunny began to avoid her.

They became extremely close.

Because I could not legally wed either of them, they decided to wed one another, with my blessing.

However, not long after their union, tragedy struck. One night, a storm started while Sunny was soaking in the jacuzzi out back and lightning struck her on her way back to the house.

She crumpled up and died instantly. We all rushed out when we heard her screams, but the sun came up almost immediately and despite our grief, we could not stay to mourn her.

Nerissa was left to deal with the aftermath.

Aiyana and I had a hard time sleeping that morning and although it was dangerous, we would periodically emerge from our coffins to mourn together.

The children were growing up so fast, and eventally, they were not babies anymore.

Viktor looked so much like me, but that swatch of black hair was all his mother's.

Zora reminded me of my sister.

And despite his mother being gone, Vlad grew up in a happy child.

However, that same night, Brittany began to prepare a special meal for the children's birthday party and caught herself on fire. Before we knew it, she was also gone. I was devastated.

Losing both of her sister-wives sent Aiyana into a downward spiral.

But time marched on, as it tends to do for our kind, and the children still had growing to do.

Despite my everlasting grief, I was proud and my beautiful children.

During this time, I tried to cheer Aiyana up. I showered her with all the love I had given my three wives.

But the grief had taken it's toll on her, and there was nothing I could do.

The grief had taken its toll on the children as well.

One fateful day, Aiyana snapped. She spent all night soaking in the same jacuzzi where she lost her first sister-wife, and when the son came up, she did not retreat to her coffin.

And just like that, she too was gone.

The children grew up.

To be honest, I had a hard time celebrating their lives.

Their faces reminded me of their mothers so much, I found it hard to look at them.

And they each blamed one another for the misfortune that had struck our family.

I tried to make things right... make us a family again... and I asked Nerissa to be my wife, and my children's mother. She had helped to raise them, after all.

And although I was happy to not have to spend eternity alone, for I promised I would turn her someday...

But I will always curse my greed that set this tragic story into motion.
