Sin City is simply an amazing movie. Like most Rodriguez/Tarrantino joints it consists of three story archs that slightly tie into each other. This movie is definitely different than most films attempting to cpature Frank Miller's graphic movies by going black and white with a splash of color when necessary, mostly for effects like blond hair or red dresses and lips. Like most Tarrantino films, there is plenty of gore, but since red blood would have looked like black on the black and white screen, the movie uses white blood instead. This is an extremely clever move, as the blood is easily visible on screen. Each of the three main characters narrates his own story, much like a comic book hero, or a film noir of the past. All three main characters are insanely tough, able to do impossible things and survive bullets and beatings with ease. The writing is witty and the pacing is like a roller coaster ride of non-stop action. I totally recommend this movie.
