You know what Mondegreens are, don't you? If you don't feel like looking it up, Mondegreens are misheard lyrics, poems, etc., such as The Pledge of Allegiance: "And to our nation for Richard Stands..." or "Bad Moon Rising: "There's a bathroom on the right."
Anyway, this one was in whatwasthatone today, a request for a song. The only lyrics they could recognize were:
"drop me in coal, I"m ready to play... today"
I just about fell off my chair.
If you don't recognize that line, it's "Centerfield" by John Fogerty and the line is actually "put me in coach, I'm ready to play today." |
