This post has three parts.

1: Promotion!

The boom has gone bust. Banks are past reclaiming possessions from those unable to pay their debts and their minions are now in the business of reclaiming the debtors themselves. Of those who remain, only those without debt are free to walk the streets unharmed, while those who cannot pay must find refuge from danger wherever possible.

A lucky few managed to find shelter on a bus when the pandemonium hit. Somehow protected from the danger that lurks the street, this group of people from vastly different walks of life must learn to co-exist in a world now confined to the interior of a bus that cannot move or escape from its ominous surroundings.

Board a bus, literally, with Downstage's Creation Ensemble for this unique work that echoes our current reality, questions the sustainability of our existence and explores how we discover community in the most unexpected of places.

That sounds pretty awesome, not gonna lie.

Part Three: The Weekend

Saturday is pleasant and uneventful. Sarah and I begin our Saturday Morning Art Lessons. They are taught by this ACAD grad who now runs her own studio and works as a studio artists- it is very slack -we basically sit around in her studio for three hours and do whatever kind of work we want to do, and we get to pick her brain, borrow her supplies, and get her to explain how to do things. We started off just drawing, and then me and sarah did blind contour drawings of each other. We traded our blind contours and developed them. I turned sarah's into a tribal man, and she shaded in parts of mine with black, so I eventually made it a peacock.

Me and dad went to the greek festival, where I ate some kind of greek dessert made out of honey, noodles, and nuts. Dee-licious. We basically go to all of the kiosks, listen to the Greek music for a little while, and then jet set.

I suggest we go to the free CJSW concert in the evening, and dad agrees, so we pack our bags and bike to downtown. We both survive, and enjoy some local music.
Brock Gieger: VERY mellow. Nice sad songs: plays with a girl who does the cello. My kind of thing.
The Brenda Vaqueros: They took forever to set up. The keyboardist was awesome. She looked like an owl.
Knots: SOO quintessentially indie. It was sort of awkward to watch him, but then he plugged in some guitar and voice distortion things for the final song and just shoegazed me away. It was Lov-e-lee
Bill Heatherington and the Asian Tigers: Happy, upbeat. The native guy started dancing at this point, which was more interesting than the actual concert.

Sunday:

It's father's day. We do Heritage Park in the afternoon. Rebeccah decides that she loves me a LOT because I am being nice to her. She gets silly and irreverant when she is happy, which is why I am only nice to her on rare occasions. We go on the ferris wheel, and it makes me a little bit nautious, which is a sure sign that I am getting old. I accept my elderly-ness, and proceed to sleep on the train and the hay ride. We go on the caterpillar, and then leave.

Dinner is at a restaurant.

Quite possibly the fifth billion one I've been to in the last week.

But it's Chianti's, so it's A-okay.

In the evening, I bike over to Brents and see the inside of his house for the first time ever. His room is the same color as gabi's, but less messy. He has:
-Posters
-Awesome Movies
-Things he drew
-His favorite discs
We decide to go bike in fish creek park before returning to my house. We have deep conversations, which are difficult to have while riding on bikes. In retrospect, I', not sure how we managed that.
But eventually we go to jacobland, where we indulged in:

and

Adaptation

The part where Meryl Streep's character is high is my favorite.

At around midnight, we biked back to Brent's house and had a not-goodbye.
And then I biked back. It was cold.

TODAY:

Pyschologist, Room Cleaning, Work, BP with Sarah, and that's all folks.
