I started to write this as a comment to providence4u on this thread here , but felt that this probably warrants a post on its own. When it comes to dialogue between Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant, there seems to be continual discussion of Scripture and Churchtradition as though they were two separate sources. This is not the way the Orthodox understand Scripture; Scripture and ...

... for joining our new community. I can tell already, as I know many of you, that we have a good mix of religious and political perspectives in the community. From the kind folks at LJChristians , at least two pastors or Christian apologists have come; I can see some friends from the Buddhists community that will be excellent perspective sources in debates, and some of you others I know from the ...

How many from Adam to Jesus? The answers may surprise you, and hopefully bring some to a better awareness of Our Great Author. http://www.cswnet.com/~duxrow/webdoc5.htm x-posted to ljchristians [in queue]
Greetings, ljchristians ! Please forgive a newbie for posting this, but I read the rules and it didn't seem to be too far off-topic, so I'm hoping one of you good folks would be able to help me... ... question I thought of many years ago. If two non-Christians marry outside of a Christian ceremony, is it considered holy matrimony? Are they wedded in accordance to the promise in Genesis (a man cleaves to his wife, becomes one flesh etc.)? What about Christians who marry in a civil ceremony? What does your church / Church teach? ... this question. I also know there are Christians that don't believe in original sin (my college chaplain was one, for instance). So, for those of you that reject original sin, how did you come to that conclusion? How do you support it? And what difference does it make to your faith? Any other thoughts are welcome as well. Thanks! cross-posted to christianleft, christianleft and ljchristians

... and time again with many rebukes. The Spirit will reach and convict the heart. The changing of the heart is what is important. I have read many responses and posts in many communities (jesusfreaks, christianity, ljchristians,e tc) that I would take issue with. But as many times as I've messed up with the Lord, who am I that I would rebuke someone arrogantly believing that I have fullness of truth?...
