I managed to get a CD stuck in the computer a couple of hours ago. Literally, stuck. I went to eject the "Tiger Woods 07" CD-ROM. The player opened, but no disc came out: it's still in there somewhere in the bowels of the laptop. Even after going in there with a flashlight, we don't even see the disc in the drive. It's as though it's vanished into the ether somewhere. It's gotta be in there SOMEwhere...
A few years ago, riding the thirdbus into a new transit center would have thrilled me more than, well, just about anything else. Yesterday, though, I was decidedly nonchalant. zarchasmpgmr warned me that would happen after marriage. I said, no way, not to me. Sure enough . . .

This is not, despite what one might think, a simple question. At least it isn't to me. The list of people I would have never heard of if not for LiveJournal is indeed staggering, but there is also an in-between...
My LiveJournal is six today! Crikey, that's old. My most successful offline diary-keeping effort lasted a little over seven years and faded somewhat in frequency towards the end, so that might be an indication of how long it takes me to get bored. My use of LJ remains disorganised; in conjunction with the long sets of day shifts and night shifts I work, it's far too easy for me to wake up, have...
I just shut down the old Win2K machine for the last time, after spending the morning wiping out all the sensitive info and getting rid of the copyrighted stuff on there (other than the operating system and related files, of course). It served me well, August 2004 - May 2008. Hey zarchasmpgmr , when do you want to come get it back? :-) Actually, we'll take it to Easter Seals later today. I'm...
