One for sorrow, two for joy . . .

The Urban Pantheist, ( urbpan ) has a really great entry today about crows (with some nice pictures from some of his previous lj projects). He also points to a Canadian documentary premiering on the CBC tomorrow night entitled A Murder of Crows . It looks really fascinating and am jealous of the Canadians who get to see it. Corvids have intriguied me for a long time. "A Parliament of Rooks"...

A Visit to the Beach

I took a walk by the beach yesterday with my camera and this is some of what I found.  This is for urbpan because I know he'd appreciate it.  This is the husk of something - a horseshoe crab?  These were all over the beach yesterday, which is unusual.  The rest of the seagulls flew away when I came around, but this one must have been hungry, because he (she?) just kept...

Vermin.

Via urbpan : Nice vermin PR article on Cracked. Points of interest (to me, anyway): 1. I have kept two of the five critters on the main banner as pets (three if you count the E. coli .), and I spent a good year with mosquitos (albeit dead ones). Now I just need to make friends with some wasps so I can win the vermin bingo. 2. The first mosquito photo is not a mosquito . It's a crane fly...

Even then, I may give up on beef and pork). I blame this entry for my vegetarianism: http://urbpan.livejournal.com/833099.html (No hard feelings, urbpan .) Also, the idea of Community Supported Agriculture has...
