When he was little, my brother used to sit and stare for hours when we'd ask him what he was doing he'd say "I'm imaginating." It's a great word and a great pastime. A couple of weeks ago I was sharing a meal with a friend and she was telling me about growing up with her father who was an inventor. She learned to always reconsider what she saw and how she did things. How could it be different...
I normally keep things like this to tivolovers , but I thought a number of my friends might be interested in this, and may want to spread the message: --- TiVo has become the focus of negative attention from several LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) groups due to their participation in a Father's Day contest . Sounds innocent enough: This month, as we take time to honor fathers...
The TiVo HD is all setup and running. It is great so far. Annetta records PBS shows like Antiques Roadshow. This plays frequently and at some odd times. It records it whenever it is on, with no duplicates. She watches it when she has time. I record Lost which airs during our small group. After small group is done, we watch the episode. After we fast forward through commercials, it takes about 45...
Just saw this discussion on the TiVolovers forum. I see the ads in my own NLP, and I think they are a bad idea. Even if I personally didn't mind them, just from reading this random sampling of 9 comments before mine, enough people are annoyed that TiVo's going to take a hit on this one. You can't be a company that outwardly adopts the Google / Apple model of simplicity and customer advocacy and...
Our house as 2 Tivos, neither are HD but both have a Lifetime Service Agreement (no $1x.00/month fee). They aren’t selling Lifetime agreements any more... normally. However for a short amount of time Tivo is letting you buy an HD model, transfer the Lifetime Service to it, and the old one gets 12 months “free” of the monthly service. That’s good enough to sell the old one and tack on about 100 since...
I've had a Series 3 for a few months now and one of the things that I lost was the ability to pull shows off as well as transfer them to my Series 2 in the bedroom. Many of us were scared they would never re-enable it and the Multi-Room Viewing was one of my favorite features. We got good news last month when they said it would be re-enabled in November, but they surprised us and turned it on this...
Just learned that TiVo is allowing TiVo HD buyers with an existing lifetime service on an older TiVo to transfer the lifetime service to the new TiVo HD for just $199. As with past lifetime transfers, you get a free year of service on the old box... and beyond that, can of course get the multi-unit discount rate. The new offer expires November 8th. ( More details and pre-qualify step... ) ...
From tivolovers (via zoneeyrie ) comes the news that the Series 3 and Tivo HD will be getting an update that activates Tivo2Go, Multi-RoomViewing and Tivo2ComeBack in November, via TiVoPony on the TiVoCommunity forums . (that's a lot of use of the word TiVo). This is, quite simply, fantastic news. This means that the features I've been really looking forward to are on their way...
I'm not sure how I managed it, but last night I sent a post meant for tivolovers here instead. Must've screwed up in the pull-down in Semagic. Sorry about the oddball post.
I made a comment very similar to this on the tivolovers community, but I figure it could be repeated just to let everyone know what's happened today ( Wednesday... still ). First, I amazed that people outside my friends list have heard about this. The whole thing is really taking on a life of it's own. The Kirkland police gave me a call this morning saying I could pick up the Tivo. The...
