My family have been running thedailybook for just over two years. We were spotlighted (or is it spotlit?) a little while before this community. It never hurts to take part in communities that are slightly different and I feel these two communities compliment each other. Over at thedailybook , a book title is posted everyday with a poll. All you have to do is say whether you have...
I am remarkably pleased at how quickly things have been set up with the new computers. I envisioned days and days of sorting things out and here less than 24 hours later pretty much everything is up and running and nicely networked. Crys' old computer now is living downstairs using the TV screen as a super-huge monitor. Obviously a lot is down to Crys' skills though I do think that it is easier these...
Currently in the book department I have a lot of reading to do in the next few days. I need to finish The Island for Tuesday in case Christine decides she will be coming to Thursday's reading group. She wasn't sure if she'd be having house guests. Like me she isn't working so says she can tackle its 400+ pages in a couple of days if need be. I've also got A Thousand Splendid Suns to read by Tuesday...
Yesterday we went into town on an expedition to get Crys some new trousers. He's been losing weight due to the the changes I've been making in our diets and has dropped a size so everything is too loose. We went to Asda and the place was so packed to almost trigger claustrophobia. I have to admit that is one reason I do not like shopping there. People always seem to be almost walking into my wheelchair...
For the next four days I am filling in for the maintainers of thedailybook posting the daily poll while they are off on a short holiday. Should be fun. My only restriction is to find four authors who haven't been featured before. A bit of a task as they've had over 660 entries to date. So far I've decided on Alan Garner, Tom Robbins and possibly Arturo Pérez-Reverte or John Connolly. Maybe...

This was my first John Grisham novel and I could not put it down. I would recommend it if you like a bit of a thriller with a twist. Find the info about it here on Wikipedia . If you've read it, it's featured on thedailybook , so you can vote and comment here , if you would like :) Are the any John Grisham fans here? Would anyone recommend a next read?
Have any of you read Martina Navratilova's biography? If so, would you mind voting over at thedailybook ? Please vote here . I would love to get peoples views on this book. Also, if you like reading, why not join the community and vote (and comment) on 1 book a day!
