Behind the cut you will find Chapter Eleven of Things That Go Bump. I see that the posts from the presenters are starting to go up. I'm excited to read about what you all learned this year and to be able to share it with riters_r_us . :) Chapter Eleven Buffy’s anger carried her all the way to the school and evaporated only when she reached the administrative areas. Rather than tell...
Personal stuff: I really enjoyed spending time with my family at my mom's house these past few days, but I'm glad to be home now. I spent way too much time in the sun, lazing about by the pool. I ate too many good home cooked meals. I just love my mom's cooking! All of us watched enough dumb cable TV shows to kill off more than a few brain cells. My husband and I had to laugh at ourselves for...
My apologies for this being late- it was a holiday yesterday in Canada...and for some reason I was thinking it was Sunday. I will post Tuesday's edition later today! - Chrislee Buffy: Vampires are creeps. Giles: Yes, that's why one slays them. Buffy: I mean, people are perfectly happy getting along, and then vampires come, and they run around and they kill people, and they take over your whole...
An exhausting weekend. Worked a Reds game in a concessions stand to make money for Wee Hob's 8th grade DC trip (next May) on Saturday afternoon. It was a very long day for way too little money-- in fact, as our group's registers/ area was short money/ inventory, we may end up having made not even the guaranteed 65 bucks for over 9 hours of work (prep/ game/ cleanup/ waiting around a couple of hours...
I've been wrapped up in RL for a couple of weeks and haven't had time to pop in, which I did about an hour ago. One of the first entries I saw concerned the use of potentially offensive words. After reading the entries on riters_r_us , here's my two cents: spaz, spastic, retard I work with people with disabilities and would never use any of these words, all of which I find offensive...
(cross posted from riters_r_us ) I've been sitting on this and mulling it over a bit trying to find the proper response. My conclusion is that their really isn't one which will be mutually satisfying to everyone. So I'll shoot from the hip here... I live in the US. I work almost exclusively with special needs children. We are our patients main medical advocates, and their social advocates...
Well, part 5 of my EIP (Epic in Progress) is now up on ff net: here. I'm pleased with how it's going, even as I despair of getting any further or fixing the glaring deficiencies every time I sit down to it. I owe a huge debt to my betas, not only on this work ( research_girl and sahiya ) but also on other work, past and present. You all know who you are. I'm too afraid of missing...
Well... I will be staying at a friends place for the next two days and afterwards there is the New Year party and the birthday of a friend... In short: I will not really be able to add anything to this list for the next few days, so here is my media list of the year: (and yes, I did spend most of the holidays in front of the TV) Booklist of the year January Hartmann von der Aue - Gregorius (S...
