This weekend was lots of things that I needed it to be. 3 days is always a good place to start. Spent Friday (with the laydees who weren't roadtripping or entertaining family) eating schnitzel and spaetzle at Cafe Vienna and then wandering through the treasure trove that is Dallas Vintage . Spent the 4th at my dad's farm, and the drive down and back made me realize even MORE just how much I need...
Damn. Like Jim and Pam, I don't know how to illegally download movies. (Pam: "We don't usually download films illegally. Because we are honest, hard-working people." Jim: "And we don't know how." Pam: "But Andy does, so we have to watch it with him." Jim: "Punishment fits the crime.") I kind of know where but... I want to see the version of Star Trek 5 edited down to an episode, see. The maker of Dinosaur Comics , Ryan North, recently made a blog entry about what he thinks the death of newspapers means for the comic industry, ( link ) and SURPRISE it turns out pretty good: In 15 years [by which time newspaper comics will be a thing of the past], when young people hear the word "comics", they're not going to think "Garfield". Nobody but Garfield fans will think that! The rest...
qwantz (the guy who writes Dinosaur Comics , which is awesome and you should totally read) just linked to me ! (for finding an article he remembered) I think I have now extracted all the joy possible out of this moment. Back to work...
Ryan North a while ago posted about this art game he found called Façade , which sounded interesting, it took me a while to get around to downloading it but i did recently and it's really cleverly done . limited at the moment but it's a good glimpse into what they're planning. anyway if you've played it you know that it saves the script as a stage play and if you read this you probably know...

Everyone knows it, but... it's always a little weird to see it for yourself? http://qwantz.livejournal.com/104445.html Is that just me? I mean it's not that I thought that the past was black+white, but... somehow it always seems dimmer, in my imagination. :P
I am a HUGE fan of Dinosaur Comics , so much so that I have Ryan North friended on LJ. Today he posted a very cool piece of fanmail (which would make sense if you read DC, and not so much if you don't) - but it's cute either way. And he linked to the site of the place that the mail originated from, and HELLO KIT'S DESK! I think it really works with their marketing theme ;)
