Hey all. Tomorrow night I'm going to an event in the theater district downtown. I'm vegan, and the person I'm going with is an omnivore. We'd like to grab dinner beforehand somewhere nearby. Any suggestions? It doesn't have to be super fancy, just somewhere where we can both find a decent meal that would meet our dietary needs. x-posted to pittsburgh
Hi Pittkiddies! It's me again , your friendly neighborhood East Winds Symphonic Band member. We are sponsoring the annual Three Rivers Community Band Festival on Saturday, May 2 at 2:30pm at Upper St. Clair High School. This is a concert featuring us, Community Band South, North Suburban Symphonic Band, West Hills Symphonic Band, and a Festival Band made up of musicians from all the bands. Admission...
Guess I haven't updated in a substantive way lately, huh? First, here are some cute cats: . Now then. Today I went to Birkat Hachamah services. Birkat Hachamah only happens once every 28 years, so I figured I didn't want to miss the chance to do it. I was glad to have gone, but it was pretty confusing. Observant Jews tend to have this free-form style -- everyone praying at their...
I'm scrolling down my friends list, reading the worldofwarcraft posts and a post comes up saying "Does anyone have any info on a good roofing and siding specialist in the city?" My mouse is moving towards "leave comment". The instructions for how to detect vendors forming in my head.... then I notice that I'm reading a post from pittsburgh , NOT worldofwarcraft . Oops...
Taken verbatim from a comment I just left to a post in the pittsburgh community: Just returned home from several neighborhoods. What I saw: Squirrel Hill: Happy people at the corner of Forbes and Murray, with a smaller cluster at Forbes and Shady. No destruction that I saw. Bloomfield: The streets were (mostly) cleared by the time I passed through, but there appeared to be remnants...
\o/ Hell yes, Pittsburgh! It's going to be nice going into a happy city tomorrow morning :) Unless anything delays my commute. Then I'll be mad. EDIT: PITTBURGH YOU ARE CRAZY. I THOUGHT WE ESTABLISHED FROM 2006 THAT MASS CHAOS AND DESTRUCTION IS NOT THE PROPER WAY TO CELEBRATE A VICTORY. There's a reason why it was so centered in Oakland and South Side: idiot college students...
Like I said in my comment in the pittsburgh community, all it needs is a video, using the same Beyoncé dance, but with the women wearing Steelers' jerseys, and it would be perfect . But even without a video, I love it anyway. :)
I'm looking for suggestions for where a person who is vegan could have a meal with a person who keeps Kosher. I know of two answers to this question: Milky Way and Pinati . Any other ideas? x-posted to pittsburgh
