When I was pregnant with my son, we did not know the sex of the baby.  Again, in the darkages of 1990, they didn't do ultrasounds as part of your routine prenatal care (if they had, they would not have let him go two weeks...

new Corps of Engineers in print!

Recently, Simon & Schuster put the four scheduled JJ Abrams-version Star Trek novels that were to be published in the summer on hold. I have no idea what that means, exactly, or what the reasons were for taking the books off the schedule so late in the game (the books were written, the authors paid), but there it is. However, one of the ways the gap is being filled is to put out two Star Trek...

Monday at Balticon

This has been a nice, relaxing show. It's been weird and different -- but also nice -- to be attending a convention as a virtual civilian. I'm only here as Krad the Obscure, Boogie Knights percussionist, so aside from the concert itself, I got to just hang out with folks and relax and enjoy myself. I got to hang out with (among others) Pat Thomas, nightwolfwriter , louiseroho , C.J...
