Palin

When the democrats put a woman in the primaries, and a minority as their main candidate, it's because they're progressive. When the Republicans do it, it's a sop to disenfranchised females. I'm glad this is so clear. Also, that 'haha what if it was Michael Palin' joke epic failed the first time someone made it. Repetition is not helping. PLEASE STOP.

Surely not

Via nick_kaufmann : Your result for The Director Who Films Your Life Test... Edward D. Wood, Jr. Ed Wood will get your film done waaaaay under budget, and will likely make it into a classic film of all time -- for all the wrong reasons. Let's face it, your life isn't terribly exciting to begin with, and it needs some camping up. His resume includes classics such as Plan Nine...

Swiped from nick_kaufmann and mssrcrankypants Nick and I have the same director, but I have the bigger budget. ;) Your result for The Director Who Films Your Life Test... The Screaming Memey

via nick_kaufmann Copy the list below. Mark in bold the movie titles for which you read the book. Italicize the ones that you’ve watched. Tag 5 people to perpetuate the meme. (If multiple movie versions exist, assume I've seen all of them.) 1. Jurassic Park (Life's too short to read more than one Michael Crichton novel, and mine was Andromeda Strain. ) 2. War of the Worlds (The...

Why New York City Is the Greatest City in the World?...

We have an accordion shop -- Main Squeeze ! Sure, Milwaukee probably has one (or several) too, but it's not the same thing. Got to see some fencing today. Yay! Then cycling and rowing. Boo! Btw, if you're wondering where I'll be today (after work) and tomorrow, I'll be regressing with cindyblue . This birth year, a group of us are doing Dave & Buster's for dinner and then she and I are...

Horror's Hot Men

Both haceldama and nick_kaufmann have recently been blogging about how journalists have a bad tendency to use epithets like "lovely and talented" when introducing female horror writers they've just interviewed. In the interest of fairly leveling the playing field, I'll soon be demanding interviews with the following: Dashing and metrosexy nick_kaufmann , broodingly hot ...

Funny post from Nick Kaufmann.

Nick makes fun of an ad which has picture of a 'typical' writer on it. Hilarity ensues

On Another Note

Part one of the Doctor Who Season finale, The Stolen Earth was great fun--the return of Davros , the creator of the Daleks (originally portrayed in the superb Tom Baker story Genesis of the Daleks by the perfectly creepy Michael Wisher, but was then frittered away in too many later episodes) was very well handled. And while the reactions of Tennant as the Doctor, Rose (back from her parallel...

Well, maybe some people went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American market...

nick_kaufmann just mentioned how MTV is going to remake The Rocky Horror Picture Show because the original is so hard to find these days. Reminded me of this thing. I liked it when I was a kid. Of course, I didn't know who the Beatles were. So Beatles. Bee Gees. What's the difference.
