I have finally prevailed over that rassafrassin' 4th block! Pics of the completed block to follow. Some of you may remember the huge frogging/fabric snipping nightmare from a couple of months ago; what most of you don't know is that I messed up AGAIN, on the little tail that dangles down. I didn't realize I'd placed one too many rows of stitches in it until I'd completed most of the gold/black framing...
Looking at these... I'm fairly certain I tipped them 90 degrees to the left from the pattern. But this is the progress as of today. meta4life , the close-ups after the overall progress pic are for you. I'm in the midst of photographing my stash. I started today, then realized there are some bits and bobs I don't actually have at work.

Whoa. Now you know it's got to be good, right? :-D Just my much-beleaguered 4th block, minus gold framing: For those who don't know, I had this block about 2/3rds done when I realized I'd placed it about 3 rows too high (serves me right for not stitching some framing guides in first). To add insult to injury, as I was snipping out the stitching I'd already done I snipped one of the fabric...
Not that I've gotten a whole lot done or anything, but there has been a bit of progress on three projects. Two of them are featured here: First, the latest Lavender update. All pics clickable-through-able: It's dark, but taken without flash so the fabric color isn't washed out. You can see I've completed the bowl, the heart amulet -- and did I have that little butterfly in the corner done last...
Getting time to stitch of late has been quite a challenge -- obviously I have not been up to the challenge or I'd be posting more updates. *sigh* This weekend I got pretty militant about having stitching time and so got a little bit done. If this comes out blurry, I'll grab another pic of it. Really enjoying the Jobelan for this piece, I think it will work well as a pillow eventually. And...
I tagged myself into an LJ meme today. By posting a comment in a friend's journal, she then gave me five words that reminded her of me, and my task was to post them in my LJ and write about what they meant to me. One of the words she gave me was "needlework. You can find my response in that link, but I'll repost that part in comments here if y'all want. As I expanded on this word I realized that...
Obviously, NSFW if strong language on screen is a problem. As I mentioned in a comment on little_wren82 's update, I started block 4 yesterday. Pretty proud of myself, counted very carefully for placement and got about a third of it completed, I think. So when I sat down this afternoon to resume, I noticed something. YOu can see it most clearly in this pic: See there on the right side...
:-D Because, of course, backstitching is evil... An update on Glastonbury Cross. First, a look back at where I was last time I posted: Fairly unimpressive. Boring, even. :) But now -- behold: I encourage you to click on these images and zoom right in. This is probably the most concentrated amount of "detail stitching" in the piece, though goodness knows there's PLENTY more to come....
Before I post pics I just want to say that I've not been as active here as I was a couple of months ago and I'm sorry for that. There have been so many lovely pieces go through here that I've just not had the time/energy/headspace to comment upon at the time. I continue to be delighted by the diversity in this community, and the depth of talent in stitching I see here. If I didn't comment on your...
This was an easy block and I really enjoyed it. I have no idea why it took me so long to complete it. I am now starting to experience the phenomena I had when I saw xinef and others post their monthly results, last year. Looking at it like this causes my breath to catch a little -- even though I'm the one who stitched it. :) A close up of the 3rd block: Don't you love the optical...
