My Mind Works in Baffling Ways

Thanks to madwriter 's " Temporal Side Effects " post, I was reminded of one of the more puzzling connections created and cemented by my teenage mind. Back when I first read Asimov's Foundation Trilogy , DeBarge's "Rhythm of the Night" was getting massive pop radio airplay. [links] Link salad mumbles its way into another work week

A review of The New Space Opera, volume 2 — The reviewer was not so much with the liking of my story, or the book in general. Writer, this is your job — (Via a mailing list I'm on.) Scrivener's Error on the Google Books settlement deadline — He's absolutely right. Without respect to your opinions of this wretched matter, you should act in some fashion. Letting it pass by is your worst choice...

A Surprise Gift; or, Sometimes, My Life is Cooler Than I Ever Expected It to Be

So, a few weeks ago, madwriter asked me if I wanted a Hebrew copy of Harlan Ellison's Dangerous Visions that had come into his possession. Now, while it's true that I can pronounce Hebrew, I don't read it too well, but I figured why not. After all, Nomi could read it, and maybe one day I'd be able to. scenes from my day

I really was on the Appalachian Trail, smart-alecks! Overlooking the valley below McAfee's Knob. Some guy standing across from me just in time for a decent composition. Danny Adams ( madwriter ) taking a picture of me taking a picture of him in the "Boulder Maze." I was soon afterward to discover that jumping across rock chasms is still possible when you're...

Philip Jose Farmer Dead at 91

Here’s one brief announcement .
