machupicchu gave me a great idea for something to do on Thanksgiving Day... I'm going to the zoo!! The only day it's closed in Christmas so it will be open. I can do some good walking and see some animals and I'm thinking it won't be crowded. And with my senior card, I get in for free! I'm quite excited about the idea.
ljtourist is the dealer who turned me on to cassava chips. Only he doesn't deal so I have to find my own dealer which I have. Whole Foods. The closest one to here is on the other side of downtown. Probably not more than 5 miles away as the crow flies. However, the crow does not take passengers and human getting there in car is a Bitch. There's another one about 5 more miles out that is way...
The neighbors across the hall from Ann and Ron - the ones who will now never have to know about my Recent Stupidness - have a 10 week old puppy. It's a tiny little whitefluffy thing that is very nearly terminally cute. She was carrying the puppy out for a walk when I came in and I got a face full of really fun puppy kisses. Just now, on Front Door TV Network, I saw them coming back in. The puppy...
I need to get up and get a shower and get dressed and pick up the big pieces so Amira can clean this morning at 10:30. I have work to do, too. The walking tour of the gay history of my neighborhood is from 2 to 5. Turns out that LJ will be nicely represented. ctseawa , aka Lee, and machupicchu , aka Matthew, are doing the tour, too. We have a wonderfulrefreshing rain this morning...
I volunteered to do some end user testing for Picnik . They said it would be some time this week but so far no details so I'm guessingmaybe not this week. I got an invitation from Kenny Lu today for lunch with him and two other guys I used to worth with at start up #2. In fact two of the guys worked with me at start up #1 as well. Kenny Lu sat in the cubicle next to mine for 2 years and was a wonderful...
It was a pretty full and very nice day. I did make a dozen twice baked potatoes and they are in the freezer. Then I sat down to finish the kitty. I'm actually quite pleased with her. She's a breeze to knit and she looks just fine, I think. Then it was off to see machupicchu 's significant other in his movie premiere. I needed to make a quick stop at the grocery on the way and discovered...
I totally stole this right from machupicchu 's journal because 1. It is hilarious and 2. If I don't record it, I will forget it cause I am old... He credits facebook so it's probably been making the rounds and since I don't facebook, I've never seen it. It's just cracking me up. Alzheimer march song WHAT DO WE WANT....... F@@K KNOWS.......WHEN DO WE WANT IT..........WANT WHAT ?
What an adventure that was. And fun. But hot. The train is just flat fun. Coming home it was also standing room only! I have an Orca card that you 'fill' with money (on their website or from a kiosk) and then swipe for your fare. For the train, you swipe once and it deducts the most expensive fare ($2.50) then you swipe when you get off and it credits back if you took a shorter trip. Then, apparently...
I don't know about the rest of the world but here in Seattle, we have the most wonderful new news outlet. Neighborhood blogs. We have several really really excellent ones. They cover the news that's happening and the comments fill in the details. It's fascinating and really wonderful. I used to the two that blanked the city ( http://seattlest.com/ and http://seattle.metblogs.com/ - these are mostly...
