Writer's Block: Music for Thought

Just normal work, it's anything I can lay my hands on, usually something with lyrics. When I'm writing, it's wordless music (so dance music or soundtracks and stuff like that). It's awesome cause the music influences the mood. :D So the housewarming went well. Got towels. Twas cool. Been working all day Monday and Friday for the past three weeks-month and basically dying because of it. Getting...

Twitchy whiskers and little paws!!

So! I fell asleep (as I do, I like to have a little nap on the days I'm busy in the evenings, as it gives me lots of energy... organising scouts is like herding cats) and had a dream about getting some pet rats again, and I woke up saying "EEEEEEEEEEEEE RATTIES!!" Then I saw this reminder post from LJDQ. It is clearly a sign.

The theme to the LJDQ was "Bull," and these resulted in the answers

ljdq Answers end up getting some fantasitcally hilarious stand alone quotes this go round! "I never saw a bright blue ox, I never hope to see one/But from the colour of this milk, I know that there must be one." - distaff_exile "so let's see if I have this right, Johnny Appleseed planted all the trees and Paul Bunyan ran around cutting them down? is that the deal?" - jenny_1981...

LJDQ (and other) stuff

My lone pun passed LJDQ muster, and I got double quotage, so I is happee. A little disappointed that I only could conjure up one pun, but happee. A week from today, I finally get my free phone upgrade. No more P.o.S scratched-screen LG Chocolate. Suggestions for a Blackberry? Is the Voyager any good? I'm going through Verizon, if that helps. I need web access--a must for trivia night. Couldn't care...

WEEKEND!!!

(...and it is sooo welcome) On the school funding (or appalling lack thereof) front, it looks like the cuts will go at least halfway into the next school year. Good grief. And it's not like the school district appropriated the funds--the state government (or appalling lack thereof) just up and cut the budget balance to zeroes. Out of the freakin' blue. Yeah. Nice. Today was quiz day at Underfunded...

Random thoughts for the week

I’m mildly disappointed that the Fifth Cylon was neither Tom Zarek nor Kara’s Mystery Raptor. However, I am amused that even Leoben is weirded out by the latest developments. I watched the inauguration at work, on a tiny black-and-white TV with an intermittent roll that someone had set up on top of one of the mini-fridges in the lounge. Did pretty well in this week’s ljdq , getting...

Oh the irony!

So, I just now realized - hence the post -  that the universe is cackling rather loudly at me at the moment.  I thought I heard an odd sound buzzing in the back of my head just out of hearing all evening.  Well now I know what it is (the universe taking unholy pleasure) and why. The why would be that I'm producing. AND not half an hour before we crewed I was playing the daily-weekly quiz by ...

Missed puns that didn't make the LJDQ cut this week, because germankitty is some people are just curious, in the same way that they slow down to see a car wreck or fight... Q: Who is the "detective" in the Agatha Christie novels "The Moving Finger" and "The Body in the Library"? A: I was a big Agatha Christie fan, until a fire ruined my collection. The Poirot novels were saved, but I lost my...
