My project for the burn is human powered lightning. My first version of this art is going to be small -- consider it a stepping stone to bigger and better things next year.
Here is a firstvideo demonstation of the system in action. When you see lightning, I'm pedaling the bike that used to power Das Blinkenwheel. I will hook up two of these lightning generators into an art project on the playa...
So - thanks gern , sucked into work distraction again... Your 1996 Theme Song Is: Breakfast at Tiffany's by Deep Blue Something And I said "What about Breakfast at Tiffany's?" She said, "I think I remember the film, And as I recall, I think, we both kinda liked it." And I said, "Well, that's the one thing we've got." What's Your 1996 Theme Song? Ha! Been...
Sucked, mostly, but we made the best out of it. Mischa, sokkmonkey , and I went as the viet-cong...because it was being held in the veterans memorial building. The Irony was lost on %99 of the crowd. All 6 of them. We hung with the vet boys, Saw gern who brought out his lasers, and fearlesspookie who wins the award for the most cleavage of the evening...
he posted this, and tagged me. If I don't repost, he's going to blame me for the death of Jesus. Yes, my people killed Jesus. Not the Jews. 1. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself. 2. Tag seven people to do the same. 3. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. I masturbate...
I was about to scoff at gern 's love of Sarah McLaughlin when murphy_slaw indicated, by reminding me of a song from a Flemish children's TV show I have forced him to listen to, that people who live in shoddily constructed glass shacks shouldn't throw anything. It's about a stuffed bunny rabbit. I just ran the lyrics through Babelfish, where they came out very, very wrong, so wrong...
I made it to bootcamp today. We ran up Collingwood, and various other hills, to the Elizabeth St. stairs that go to the top of Grand View. I did an okay job of keeping up, but managed to lose the group around 21st and Eureka. I caught up with them in the end though, after running up and down a couple of hills. It felt great to be back. The tough part is not the running, its the getting up at 5...
Woke up for donation-only bootcamp this morning. Today we ran up Bernal Hill. We stopped for push-ups and the like along the way, but mostly ran. We made it all the way to the top and did sumo squats while gazing out at our lovely city. This weekend Mully and Taffy came to town for a wedding, so we had a bit of opportunity to see them. That was lovely. We met them along with Fearghal and ...
I made bootcamp this morning and it was a good thing too. Turns out our coach is changing his routine. He will no longer be charging us for the service of running the bootcamp. Instead he will be collecting cash each month for a charity of our choice. On the one hand, it will save me some money which is always welcome, but he is reducing the schedule to Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday only and...
One can have a perfectly good time for many hours with only gern , cerebus805 , bad beer, and a dog. At ceebaby 's birthday party, where they, the beer, the dog and I were, I never had to spend any time wandering around looking for a conversation to latch myself onto. They generally found me. This to me makes for a successful afternoon party. All the details were pleasant. ...
