I originally posted this story to fictionwriters but I decided to post it here as well. The story's a bit graphic, contains some very questionable scenes. It's an excerpt of a future novel (maybe?) called The Falcon Never Dies. It's an account about a crime against a young girl and the aftermath of it. Note: I changed the names of the characters so it won't be spoilerific. ...

The rain beating against the windshield of Christopher Johnson's car didn't stop him from traveling to his destination, even though it was coming down in sheets. All he could think about was the dark haired woman in her mid twenties he had met weeks earlier at the new dance club located in downtown Chicago where he had lived all his life. Partying was the one thing he knew a lot about and he did it...
I am a bookworm. That's probably not all that unusual for a library science student, and it won't come as much of a surprise that, growing up, the public library was a regular hang-out of mine. There aren't a lot of places for shy bibliophiles to kill a few hours after school, and that's doubly true for the ones, like me, who grow up in a town too small to have stoplights, let alone coffee shops or...

XD) For two weeks, new writers can post with relative assurity that while their critiques may be harsh but fair, they won't be ridiculously overloaded with snark and vitriole, nor be left wondering if the "reviewer" has a personal...
After getting some feedback from the kind people over at FictionWriters , I've realized that Chapter One needed some major revamping. That's what I get for posting my rough drafts. :( lol. Here's the new *improved* version. :) xoxoLigeia "And then it started like a guilty thing Upon a fearful summons." - William Shakespeare, Hamlet, 1.1 "C'mon. We're taking you out." Daniel said...

He had donations from sources, but even with them, ended up representing himself in one of the cases. In that case he lost and was found liable for defamation for a lot of money. Now he's appealing the ruling, and the process isn't getting any cheaper. This page has some paypal...
