I was way too inspired by a post in craftgrrl , so I ran off and made a little house of my own that won't get much use for a while--maybe once it's viewed as a non-edible :) Kitchen Living room Dining room Front yard I plan on making little clothespin dolls to play with inside. I'm happy with how it turned out. My sewing machine and I are currently fighting, so I hand...

Buttercup Bag

This is just a simple little purse, but I love this (free) pattern and it has become my go-to bag pattern when I need something to match an outfit, so I figured I'd share it here. It's the Buttercup Bag , and it comes together quickly and easily. If you use a lightweight cotton like the pattern indicates, I recommend interfacing to help the bag keep its shape. I made the dark blue...

Why don't you appreciate me??

Craftgrrl, generally a snuggly sanctuary of normalcy and politeness, has a tendency to sprout fangs when you don't follow the community rules. This is not one of those times. When bratzdollbron a post without using an lj-cut , two or three people ask politely for her to put it under a cut. She freaks out and then makes another post about how rude people were to her. And then? Flounces...

4:30 PM Smeddley - The story of one Stephalopod

Hi, my name is Smeddley and I'm a crafter... This is the story about one of my crafts and his crazy adventure (warning: picture heavy and I REALLY hope I get the coding right!). The is Stephan, the Stephalopod. You can make your very own Stephan using this pattern if you like to crochet, or, like a lot of my non-crocheting friends, you can cajole and/or bribe me until I send you one. They're a pain...

Q'sOTD, a bit of curiosity-induced research.

What do you need help with in your crafting? Being more creative? Having a more organized craft area/room? Selling your crafts more effectively? Finishing WIPs? Confidence? OTOH, what are your crafting strengths? What do you think you do a fantastic job at? What are you so good at that you think you could teach it? x-posted to craftgrrl

Anyone can felt with roving wool no matter the yarn art they enjoy. I happened upon a tutorial on craftgrrl  ( OP's post ) that showed how to make felted beads. I imediately thought of all the sweets jewelry and decor that could be made using them, then lo and behold, she gave a link to bon bon rings made with the balls! Felted Beads Tutorial No crafting experience necessary. You just need...

Beastly shoes

Somebody posted an ugly ewok sock puppet a bit ago today. I had to dig through the community she found it in, and I came across these: http://community.livejournal.com/craftgrrl/12566566.html

Ewok Sock Puppet

I like crafts...I have a special place in my heart for DIY...but there is a special place in hell for a sock puppet that's supposed to look like an ewok. Any craft that starts with the lonely widow from a pair of socks is just not going to end well. Add googly eyes, a red pom pom and you have... http://community.livejournal.com/craftgrrl/12577781.html I think this is a much better execution...
