I held a reading of the introduction to the Fell Taint in the Monster Manual 2 at Camp Nerdly this past weekend. Without fanfare or a lead-in, I simply had someone read it aloud to the other gamers. Their reaction was priceless. I think chadu peed himself a little. Okay, maybe not, but he laughed muchly. As if to mock us further, Wizards of the Coast is featuring this creature from nether...
So it's Saturday night. My official event (a Trail of Cthluhu game based on "O Brother Where Art Thou"[1]) ended . . . 9 hours ago? Something like that. It went well. I always begin each game I run worried that I'm going to suck - and in fact, I can think of a few games I've run where I did, indeed, suck, so having that thought just forces me to be better. Or at least to try harder. I think I've...
There was an excellent, if spoilery, review and critical commentary on Star Trek here . I got this particular link from action buddy chadu . However, as excellent as that essay was, I disagreed with it. At length. It's pretty criticism-crunchy stuff. On the other hand, it's been how long since I dirtied up Websnark with 2,500 words of rambling?
On a less serious note, and because I've not seen people posting it all over, I present this: We Didn't Start the Flame War It's maybe not safe for work. (found via chadu )
Hey! I tied for third place in the S7S remix contest! Woo! Thanks Fred and Chad! (You can check out all the entries here. Lots of great and creative work.)

It looks pretty: hardback, 7x10in, over 300 pages (so like a slightly thicker, hardbound Adventure or Aberrant). Produced with the able assistance of drivingblind and miscellaneous artistes and footmen. Check out their two blogs for more about it.
Anyone know where I can get the outtakes from Obama's audiobook with him swearing, and basically, bein' all pimp? chadu posted that James Lipton wrote the Thudnercats' theme, which reminded me I wanted to mashup my Thundercats outtakes with Obama's. I gaurantee hillarity.
If you don't follow chadu 's blog, you might want to go here for the sekrit surveillance photo of the Swashbucklers of the Seven Skies hardcover proof. Looking very swish. They've gone for 10x7", which is the same format as Adventure and Aberrant. I'm guessing because that's the largest size Lightning does in hardback. (Which possibly means I should consider it for Albion if I - eventually...
