Another of those catch-all entries. 1. To budgie_uk : Hoping your big day's a good one! My best to the rest of the immediate, and good to see you surviving another one! 2. On the other side of the ledger, I've seen notices from Val d'Orazio, steverolston and others about the death of CyberSix co-creator Carlos Meglia. A damn shame. 3. As sad as that is, bob_greenberger ...
I have given in to a minor return to Livejournal (though not yet succumbed to Facebook) solely for the purpose of keeping track of a few links, etc. I greatly doubt anyone will be reading this, though I suppose in future I might use it for photos from London or such things as might be of slight interest to my acquaintances. Right. This is a wonderful wonderful photo of Neil Gaiman with a panda...

Was brilliant. Up at 8am to catch the 9am bus into Birmingham to catch the 10am train, a 'by the hour' plan that almost failed in Kings Heath when the driver didn't understand that he was supposed to keep driving , and not talk to some bloke he knew. After five minutes, I politely asked if we were stopped here or continuing and this spurred him into apologetic action. Lucky I had, really as I...
Found via budgie_uk . To the right is a graph of UK house prices since 1990. It's one thing to know what has happened; it's another thing to see it laid out quite so plainly. I bought my first property, a flat, in 1995, and my second, a house, in 2000. When you compare those dates with the graph, it looks like very shrewd buying. But in reality it was luck, and being born at the right time...
Yesterday was a long one. The day? Passable, did writing, worked on a few things, worked on San Diego stuff, worked on the column. Then, around 3.30pm I drove down to London to meet up with budgie_uk and the delectable belle_fille1982 - found Budgie in Charlotte Street after parking up following a surprisingly stress free journey and we found Trace closer to the Recording Theatre...
So. Last night I was a 'Special Guest Presenter' on the Destiny Radio Network's Sci Fi Guys show, at www.dtrn.co.uk . The indubitable Stuart Claw of London Expo and the Anime Network (to name but a couple) fame held the fort while I joined him on a variety of subjects. Was I in the studio? No. By the wizzy wozzy magic of telephonic communications , I did the show pretty much like this...
I keep having a reocurring dream about P!nk (no budgie_uk .. not those ones). So, I've spent hours queuing for her gig in Cork and finally we're let through the doors at the venue and it's, as expected, a complete bum rush to try to get to the front. We're all racing to try and get to the barrier only to come up against another set of doors where staff hold us for a futher ten minutes. Eventually...
A couple of people tagged me over the weekend, with the latest book meme going the rounds. I don't usually participate in memes but this one appealed, so here goes... (1) Grab the nearest book, turn to Page 123 and blog the fifth sentence. They relied on extreme and unnatural features appearing on the surface of the corpse, which would simply indicate that an alien substance had been used. from...
