Thank you to jinty , motodraconis , badasstronaut , tinyjo , squigglyruth , geroge and J, E and C in absebtia, supplier of more fizz than we could drink, even when egged on by an overexcited T-rex skeleton after hours at the Natural History Museum. For the river, jinty worked her usual magic on the weather, and we were able to punt in sunshine...

It's just starting to rain now, after a beautiful weekend of sun, sun, slight haze and more sun. Kind of shocking for a bank-holiday weekend. We went to Bristol for multi-venue city festival Dot to Dot. It had scaling issues, but I enjoyed it. Failed to get into the Louisiana but Marina and the Diamonds had cancelled anyway, so no biggy. Had some beer, sat in the sun. Bought the first 99s of the...

Word was that the Bristol Comics Expo was totally sold out and getting in would be nigh impossible, but I've been in a state of excitement all week (new smartphone, favours bags, minicomic) so figured that the chances of tempting some people out of the (doubtless hot stuffed overpriced) hotel bar to some sort off local hostelry for a brief drink in the mid-afternoon lull were just good enough to justify...

I just wish I weren't so  absurdly feeble and knackered all the time. I invariably shuffle off after one Of Badass'  extravagant blowouts for a little dormouse-doze to revive myself, and end up in bed for the night at an absurdly early hour. This year's bedroom was amazingly warmish. I even kicked off my bedsocks. I did manage to drive my roomie to sleep on the sofa one night  with my nocturnal babbling...

Once a year a dozen or so comics fans disappear in to a cottage on a farm near Wickwar in South Gloucestershire and emerge with a collaboratively written and drawn comic book. At least that’s the theory—last year we got carried away with ‘shortcuts’ like mixing in a photo-story section that ended up with the comic not being complete...
