fragile atheism waaaaaaah

As a "secularist" (atheist? agnostic?), you're already in the vast minority in every culture in western civilization. You might want to work on growing a thicker skin, so that comic strips running in the Boston Globe don't offend you .

Wait, they bake iPhone apps?

http://community.livejournal.com/b0st0n/6697967.html I had no idea iPhone apps came with gluten. Also, anybody else amused by the phrasing of "When did you start living gluten-free?" Kind of makes it sound like vegetarianism or something, instead of an allergy. :::is overcaffineated, cranky, and is channelling George Carlin apparently:::

Nominated

So far, this gets my vote for "Most unnecessary heart-wrenching details given in a request for information" post for this year. This beats out all the "Look at meeeeee! I'm actually moving in with a woman and need to sublet my old place" TMI posts. There's still some head-room though. We haven't had anyone ask about where to sell a kidney, but in this economy, we might yet see that.

I lost my underwear in Inman Square.

For those who don't read b0st0n : I lost a bag of Victoria's Secret purchases from my bike route between the Cambridgeside Galleria and Davis Square earlier today, and am trying for the unlikely magic of someone on here having found it. Details here .

Kill A Kitten

I hate to see animals put to sleep, so I'll only adopt from a shelter that stands to kill them. No sense in adopting from a no-kill shelter since the kitten's life isn't in jeopardy there. If only more people would see things this way. In a perfect world, no one would ever adopt from a no-kill shelter. With nobody to take kittens off their hands, no-kill shelters would suffer unbearable financial...

Fung Wah and other extravagant decadent luxuries

$18 for the bus to Boston is too expensive. I want $10. How do I put this.... If 18 dollars is an unacceptable outlay, maybe traveling to Boston isn't the best idea. Maybe staying and taking an extra shift at work would be more helpful in the long run.

So is it just me or does anyone else think this post amounts to "OMFG, all, like, these greasy, like, Bostonians. Like, they need to, like, wash their faces and all, like."

The job site less traveled

http://community.livejournal.com/b0st0n/6645146.html ok, 1) if no one goes to it, why would there be any jobs? But MUCH more importantly: 2) Where on earth do they get the statistic that only 1.2% of the area knows about the site? do they have MIND READING RAYS? Did they poll? (In which case, after the poll, everyone they polled would know...) I mean, granted, everyone knows that 73% of statistics...
