Cateruccia's scroll

Now that it has been presented, here's some pix of Kerri's scroll... Here we have a Persian dancer... Here we have St. John Here we have her device and tailor-supporters... And here we have the capital.

The Procession to Valhalla

A friend of ours took this picture of the procession to Kolfinna’s memorial ceremony at Great Western War. Since my hubby was asked to officiate, the organizers of the procession placed us up front. I did not quite realize at the time just how large the procession was. Yet, this was nothing compared to the number of people that we would meet as we arrived at the battlefield.   I feel ...

Cookin' in my underwear

How scandalous! But still, it is one of my favorite things to do - at least when I am at war.  And given the incredible set-up that I get to play with, thanks to the indulgence and graciousness of my friends, can you blame me? I will report more about Great Western War, but for here, I will just say that despite going into it with concern, pressure, sadness, and unexpected tragedies, the event...

Feast trunk

Well, this project turned into much more work than I had intended, and I still have further to go.  But so far, I'm pretty pleased with the project.  I need to remember Paul's mantra, "Joe... it's just a box.  Stop obsessing." This design is taken from about five different folios from the Manesse Codex.  The only new addition is the use of our devices where other shields would have been.  ...

Stepping stones to get me through an otherwise pathless summer

..., at which not only will I get to sing and play instruments, but even to see shavasue , who is coming out to see if she could stand to live in Caid in four weeks: a visit to joeguppy and his hubby, where Maluchka and I can spend a whole weekend being Renaissance dance geeks (yay dancing!) in five weeks: finally, my train trip to San Jose/San Francisco, with a stop in Santa ...

Snarkin

This past weekend was Gyldenholt Anniversary. All in all, it was a pretty enjoyable event, marking the first year of Their Excellencies in their current role. I gotta say, I’m pretty pleased with where the Barony is currently. Despite spending good chunks of the day being pulled into discussions about some people-issues and the like, I would have to say that things are, for the most part, ...

Entry #4: the pilgrim

This was one of those entries that I did not necessarily set out to do – rather, inspiration hit in the most unlikely of places.   Since I am dabbling more and more into calligraphy and illumination, a few months ago I picked up an amazing book on the creators of the Tres Riches Heures, the Limbourg brothers. The book covers an exhibit of materials dealing with the creation of the Tres ...

I've been CATTED!

Be Warned!  Or this might happen to you! No, this is not posed. Yes, this happens frequently if I land on the couch for more than 5 minutes. No, I didn't roll around in catnip prior to this photo being taken.
