Hello. So I’m in a good mood today, which I am pleased about. I was starting to finally get bummed out again Monday and Tuesday, but ever since last night I’ve been in good spirits. With August just 2 days away and my birthday soon after, I imagine I will ve pretty damn depressed most of that month....which brings me to my first topic.
I have decided to start a new contest. In recent months I had a trivia contest (the trivia was about me, to test how much you internet friends know about me) and then one where I basically made embarrassing videos of myself in exchange for booby salutes, lol. Well here’s my new contest : I want to see you smile. As many of you know, one of the best feelings in the world for me is when I can make a cute girl smile or laugh, and most of my internet friends happen to be very cute ladies (why I can’t be so popular with cute girls in real life is beyond me, lol). Anyways, when Vee won the trivia contest, I made her a video where I basically expressed how I feel about what an awesome person she is since she is, after all, my bestest internet friend and she knows more about me than anyone except maybe my mom...though Nicole may eventually overtake Vee in the “how much do you know about Dave” department.
So here’s the thing. If you’re a girl, and you take a picture of yourself smiling while holding a sign that reads “Dysthymia83 made me smile”, I will write some stuff in my blog about why I think you’re a great person and appreciate your friendship. This contest is open until August 19th, because 8/20 is my birthday, and I’ll be home that day and wicked depressed. So on 8/20 I will take all the pictures that have been sent to me (I don’t expect to get that many) and I will post the pictures in a blog followed by a few paragraphs about that girl..so yes, you will have to be comfortable with me posting the picture in a blog. However, if you want to send me private pictures of you smiling, preferably with far less clothing on than the other entries, those are welcome for my private collect in my offshore Spank Bank, lol. And hopefully looking at all of my wonderful internet friends and getting to write about why you all mean so much to me will make that day seem far less depressing for me....because I may end up being a single 25 year old virgin loser who no one will ever love, but at least it will be a reminder that some very great women care about me, and that I have the power to bring at least a tiny but of joy to their lives.
So yeah, you can send the pics to me by e-mail or upload them somewhere and shoot me the link. I hope at least some of you will participate.
So my internet friend Porch, who loves when I give her shout outs in my blog, asked me why I haven’t made any videos in a while. The answer is that, I’ve run out of ideas for them. My video blogs just aren’t as good as my written ones because Youtube limits them to 10 minutes and because I express myself better in the written word than the spoken one. And aside from video blogs, all I can really think to do is lip synch to my favorite songs, sing songs really badly, embarrass myself, or make videos of my bored and annoyed pets who wish I’d stop filming them, lol. So yeah, if anyone has any ideas or requests of new videos, let me know and maybe I’ll try them out. Speaking of Porch, there’s a chance I might actually get to meet her. Apparently she will be visiting her father in New York, and if the father is okay with my Myspace profile (which is a big IF since my profile is full of horror movie pictures and I have no less than 2 porn stars in my top friends, lol) he’ll take her up to RI to meet me. I have known Porch longer than most of my internet friends, since 2001 when she was just 13 (I swear I wasn’t hitting on her, lol...no need to stop by, Chris Hansen!) And I was 17. I has posted a short story I wrote online called “Freak Town”, which I have attempted to turn into a screenplay before, and if I ever finish the script I’m working on now and get it made, I would still love to make “Freak Town” my 2nd film, and she E-mailed me out of the blue one day to tell me how much she loved the story, making her my 1st ever fan. The only other fan I ever had was a guy I had never met who came up to me on the quad back when I was in college and told me he really like my blog, and acted like meeting me was like meeting his favorite movie star....and I never saw or heard from that guy again. Odd, lol. But yeah, I think I’d be awesome to meet her. I wouldn’t say I’m as close to her as I am to other internet friends, though we are getting closer now, but she’s one of the few internet people I’ve ever given my phone number too...in fact, aside from her, all the internet people I’ve given my number to have either been people I eventually met in real life or girls I had wanted to date but for whatever reason it never worked out (like Crush, etc). But yeah, I think we’d have fun.
So I finally got to talk to Nicole again, after her vacation last week. She’s been kind of bummed out, so I made her a mix CD. Maybe it’s because I really like the movie “High Fidelity”, but I love making people mix CDs, but I don’t have many opportunities to do so. Back in high school a friend of mine and I made mix TAPES for each other of various rock bands. My 1st GF made me a mix CD, but her taste in music was godawful. Still, I love the fact that someone poured over their CD collection looking for just the right tracks to add to the mix. Mix CDs are cheap, fast, and easy to make, but if done right, they can show someone just how much you care about someone by the effort you put into making a mix they will like. I made a ton for my 2nd GF, a mix of songs she asked me to burn for her and songs I added that in thought she would like, and I think I’ve made 1 or 2 for an internet friend along the way. With Nicole’s I chose songs specifically related to her issues, and I hope she’ll like it when she gets around to listening to it. I had fun making it, and I wish I had more friends to make these things for. Oh, and it seems no mix CD from me is complete without the song “My Neck, My Back”, because who doesn’t love a song about cunnilingus? Lol. But yeah, Nicole and I hung out during our breaks and had lunch together Monday and Tuesday. I decided to give her a break today and sat alone reading my book, but she still came over to my table for a few minutes to bust my balls about it, lol. Tuesday we were actually joined by some others in our department, so we had to push two tables together. Patricia, an older woman we work with who has always been friendly to me, asked me about my screenplay, but aside from that I stayed quiet because I’m not comfortable talking around most other people at work.
I don’t know when Nicole and I will hang out outside of work again since she’s super-busy, but I was pleased that another real life friend, Renee, massaged me for the first time in a long time asking if I wanted to see a movie sometime soon, so hopefully we’ll get together for that. We’ve hung out twice before and the last time was really fun and comfortable, whereas our first meeting was a tad awkward and quiet. I know this weekend I plan to go see “Swing Vote”, and this month “Pineapple Express”, “Tropic Thunder”, “Mirrors”, “Midnight Meat Train”, and “Hamlet 2" also open, so it’d be nice to go to at least one of these movies with someone. Oh, and “American Teen” came out last week, but not in RI...but if it opens in Mass I might call up Jess from RI and take her up on her offer for a ride to a movie, lol. Oh and Cassie, the internet friend I met once and thought I made a bad impression with, and I have talked again. Apparently I didn’t bore her death because she added me to her top Myspace friends, and the only reason we hadn’t really talked since then is because she is very busy being very pregnant, lol. So yeah, this has been a good week so far on the friend-front. I just need MORE of them, lol. A sheltered rose needs a little room to grow outside his bedroom.
Plus I’ve actually made my online status on Myspace and Fubar reflecting that I want to make cute girls smile. Last night I made 3. This week I made Nicole laugh hard once, when I did an impersonation of the Count from “Sesame Street”, and also made her laugh today with a funny post it note I slapped on her desk when I walked by her on my way to the restroom. So if there’s anything I can do to make more of you girls smile, let me know. Pictures of my junk? Anyone? Lol.
I have also continued getting BK chicken fries for supper from work every night this week thus far. I am not noticing a gain in my weight, though. You’d think day after day of gorging on 24 chicken fries would put some fat on me, but I also happen to have a super-high metabolism...even though I sit on my ass all day, lol. Pretty much the only thing I am disappointed in myself about is that I have not worked on my screenplay in at least 2 weeks. I need to be less lazy about that. If no one will ever love me, and I’ll be a complete failure in my romantic life, all I can really cling to is being a success professionally, and then maybe some cute girl will marry me for my money, lol.
Last night I had a great dream, though. I was stuck in traffic due to an accident, and some people got out of their cars to talk, and so I followed suit. Soon, a very pretty in a girl-next-door way woman began chatting me up. She had red hair pulled back in a pony tail, wavy but not curly, big blue eyes (no glasses, oddly enough) and freckles all over her face. And the whole dream was me and this woman my mind created flirting. In some ways, I like dreams like that even more than sex dreams, if for no other reason than I don’t have pesky morning wood after, lol. The only bad part is when I wake up and realize the girl isn’t real, lol.
I have been hornier than usual lately too, lol. But I guess that’s to be expected after the strip club and seeing Jenna Haze (don’t worry, I won’t post and pictures of her in this entry, lol). Anytime I see an attractive girl all I can do is think about how I’d love to wrap my arms around her and kiss her so deep and hard and that she has to gasp for air afterward. It’s been so long since I’ve kissed a girl I’m afraid I’ve forgotten how, lol. I’ve only kissed 4 girls in my life (and even though we did “other stuff”, my last GF and I never french kissed...that fact goes into the “probably lesbian column”...then again, some of the other stuff we did points to her being bi, so who knows), and I have no idea if I’m any good at it. The girls have all told me I was good, but I suspect they were lying to make me feel better. Then again, you’ve all seen my tongue trick, so......yeah, lol. So yeah, it’s been almost 3 years since I’ve kissed a girl, 2 years since I’ve touched booby or lower fun parts, and 11 days since seeing real life booby and lower fun stuff, lol. Not that I’m counting....11 DAYS!! AH AH AH!! Sorry, slipped into Count Von Count from “Sesame Street”..we all know he was a pimp too...who else wears a purple cape except pimps?
Apparently my grandmother met the Orbit gum woman when she was in Aruba. You know, that hot blonde girl with the English accent who says “Dirty mouth?”. Yeah, apparently her accent is real, but the actress plays it up for the commercial.
There was some bad news this week. Kevin Matisyn, the lead singer and writer of all the songs for my fav band, Evans Blue, was kicked out of the band by the other band members. He ended up writing a very long blog that was very heartfelt and candid about the reasons why, and apparently he has been suicidal for a long time, and as a result very difficult to work with, and has tried to kill himself very recently. On top of this, their record label dropped them because the band wasn’t getting popular fast enough for them, and the reason they believed this was so was because the songs were too depressing and too “difficult to understand”..so the rest of the band members decided to sell out and make happy shit with simplistic lyrics like any other disposable rock band on the radio instead of sticking with Matisyn. Hell, the reason Evans Blue was my fav band was because his lyrics were so deep and poetic and the metaphors and allegory were not as easy to decipher or as simple as other bands. This wasn’t just music, I consider it poetry and art, and my love for their lyrics is evident in how often I quote them in blog titles, blog entries, and even crappy graphics I make with them in MSPaint. With the exception of Lisa Loeb, I have never connected with any other music as much I have the music of Evans Blue. So now that Matisyn is gone, I don’t know if I’m going to like the band any more. Matisyn’s solo album will be out later this year (hopefully) and the demos on his Myspace sound really good. Evans Blue’s 3rd album had about 20 songs written and performed with Matisyn before they kicked him out, albeit with happy songs they forced him to write, so I don’t know if they’re going to use those or start over with new songs, or keep the songs but use a new lead singer, when they find one. But yeah, it sucks that my favorite band essentially doesn’t exist anymore, at least not in the form I loved. At least I have 2 albums to listen to over and over again, and Matisyn’s solo stuff and side projects will probably be excellent.
And now some movie news (you can skip this stuff, Nicole, lol). The teaser trailer for “Saw 5" came out this week. Like most all of the “Saw” trailers after part I, it sucks, but considering I have loved all of the “Saw” films thus far, I have learned not to be disappointed by their trailers. “Repo : The Genetic Opera” soundtrack will be released almost a month before the film is, 9/30, and because of Comic Con, 5 or 6 of the songs were uploaded online and with a password (“Geneco”) you can download them all for free. “Chase the Morning” is my favorite so far. Hopefully this HTML will work, here’s clip from the movie with the song “Zydrate Anatomy” :
If you’re reading this on OD or possibly Fubar, it won’t be above this paragraph, though on Fubar the video is in my Stash anyway. That clip came from MTV.com, and apparently MTV is going forward with a TV movie remake of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”...which is bound to suck balls, lol. I have a little more hope about the “Robocop” remake in the works, since the original is one of my all time fav films, and the remake is being made by Darren Aronofsky, the genius behind “Requiem for a Dream”, “Pi”, and “The Fountain”. Oh, and the footage shown at Comic Con for the “Friday the 13th” remake looked pretty decent (Jason RUNS!!!).
And apparently Tim Burton will be making a love action “Alice in Wonderland” movie, with the very cute redhead from “In Treatment” that I love so much playing Alice, and rumor has it Johnny Depp will play the Mad Hatter (which sounds like perfect casting to me)...and since it seems like Marilyn Manson is never going to make his film “Phantasmagoria”, about the author of the book, Lewis Carroll, this is probably the best chance we have to see a good live action film about these characters any time soon.
Other random movie stuff :
-They’re making a “Marvin the Martian” movie. He is my fav Looney Tunes character, and the one souvenir I bought when I went to Six Flags in NJ for my 15th birthday (which was 10 years ago....wow) was a very expensive Marvin snowglobe.
-The trailer for Oliver Stone’s movie about Bush, “W”, was leaked online this week, and it looks really funny.
-I don’t think “Dark Knight” will out-gross “Titanic” to be the biggest grossing film of all time...but I think it will beat “Star Wars” to become #2.
Okay, I guess that’s all I have for tonight. I’m off to go watch “Harold & Kumar 2" on Blu-Ray....oh, and they announced they are making part III. I look forward to the return of Neil Patrick Harris atop his unicorn, because now more than ever we can ill afford another Klandathu. Okay TTYL. SMILE!!! =D |
