Dissapearing and reappearing. This damn journal thing is meant to be the only stable thing in my life. Where's the consistency you silly fiend? You're not doing a very good job at updating yourself on all the current events.
Annnd, because I've been such a naughty shit, I'm going to have to continue it by making dot points of the last 2 months:
* IRON MAIDEN were fucking amazing the both nights I saw them. Needless to say I had no voice left the following days - but I'm sure work understood as I already advised them that if I didn't go to the gig I would commit suicide.
* Cancel on the America tour and book tickets to go to Europe instead. Get shafted by the travel agency but everything is ok now.
* Start filming and have one interview underway.
* Buy a swish 17" Apple Macbook Pro - that's 17"'s of fun!
* Buy a Panasonic AG DVX-100 Camera
* Do the film-making summer school short courses.
* Start walking to work - that's 2 hours of walking a day.
* Reading more autobiographies - finished my book on Gonzo, now reading about Mr Jeff Dahmer
* Saving up money for Europe - we're going to a couple of big metal festivals over there and I intend to be loaded to the teeth.
* I haven't drunk for 4 months, which is brilliant. Except for last Friday night when I was walking down Brunswick Street after spending the afternoon with my leather shop friend, and I bumped into some old chaps from High School. We ended up getting solidly drunk and reminiscing on old times. I remember watching one of them, Max - who is a professional busker, doing his thing dressed up as a pimp. I'm pretty sure later on that night I bumped into a brother whom I spent about half an hour ranting my opinions to.
Blergh - I can't even think what else I've been up to. There's been too much. I have to go back to Canberra soon - I'm really missing the old bag. I can't wait to see her again.
Other than the usual misanthropic bouts of contemplation, the latest one plaguing my mind has been popular culture and its influence on Generation X's identity. It's really been bothering me. I'll crap on about that one at a later date. Actually, no the latest mind-virus has been the fact that there really hasn't been a music explosion in the last 15 years or so. Are we really destined to be recycling all this retro garbage for the rest of our lives?
This laptop rules, but I'm sure the cafe where I'm using their Internet don't care. They just want me to buy another drink...which, might I add - would certainly not be coffee. I haven't had a coffee forever.
Blah blah blah - no spell check. |
