Chapter one!
Chapter two!
Chapter three!

As soon as Uruha heard the door open, he all but flew out of the kitchen to go and welcome Aoi.

“How did it go?!” Uruha asked excitedly.

Aoi chuckled, and kissed Uruha on the cheek. “What do you think?” He asked, keeping a straight face.

Uruha took a step back, inspecting Aoi’s whole composition, his expression, everything.

“I knew you could do it!” Uruha chuckled happily, hugging Aoi tightly. “What did the professor say?”

Aoi stepped a little further into the house, keeping Uruha close to him, before closing the door behind him.

“He said that I did great and that I shouldn’t be worried about my other exams either.”

“Oh wow! That’s wonderful.” Uruha smiled, letting go of Aoi now.

“I’m just glad it’s over.” Aoi sighed; these exams had practically eaten him alive. Today had been his last one, an oral exam modern history. That wasn’t too bad, he’d had worse subjects and he’d done really well on those, too.

He’d gotten feedback from several teachers, saying that he’d done really well for a freshman. All in all he could be very proud… he doubted he was prouder of himself than Uruha was of him though.

“I can imagine.” Uruha smiled, and all he could do was imagine really, he had no idea what it was like to study as hard as Aoi did and to have to take all these different exams. He had only gotten to 7th grade… no more school after that point. He regretted that really, he wished he had been able to go to school. Maybe then he’d been able to go to university too one day.

Uruha was kind of relieved that Aoi was finished now though. It was really stressful to see Aoi only sleeping a couple of hours a night, to see him stressing and repeating whole texts only to himself and things like that. Uruha hated being selfish and saying that he was kind of bored when Aoi was studying… but it was the truth. If he couldn’t talk to Aoi he’d simply do some housework or listen to music –with his headphones of course, so he wouldn’t interrupt Aoi- And now they could even go on that date Aoi had promised him…

Aoi put his stuff next to the little table near the door and chuckled as he finally took a good look at Uruha. “What are you wearing?”

“It’s an apron.” Uruha said, looking down at himself, “I found it in one of the kitchen cabinets while I was looking for a cutting board.”

Uruha was wearing one of his purple tight shirts –the boy seemed to have a thing for purple- and underneath that a short pair of black pants, making it seem like he was wearing nothing underneath the apron… which made the apron look like a dress or something.

Aoi strangely concluded that he liked it. He liked it a lot even.

“And why are you wearing that?”

“I’m baking you cookies.” Uruha said like it was an everyday thing. He then walked in the kitchen, quickly checking the clock. Yep, they had another five minutes to go.

“The eggs were about to expire and I found some flour and stuff so I decided to make you some cookies to celebrate your last exam or something like that.”

Look at him all domestic and stuff, Aoi found himself chuckling.

“What kind of cookies?” Aoi then asked interestedly, already getting closer to the oven.

“Chocolate-chip.”

“Oh, you’re so good to me!” Aoi chuckled, opening the oven to take a quick peek… and to see if they smelled as good from close up as they did from afar.

“Hey, they’re not done yet.” Uruha quickly got up and swatted at Aoi’s hand. He went to stand between the oven and Aoi, leaning back against the counter, his hips cocked out a little and a seductive smile on his face.

“You’re so mean! Getting me all hungry with the wonderful smell… and that apron that you’re wearing.” Aoi teased evilly, “It’s really not fair at all!”

Uruha laughed, one of those honest and true laughs. “They’ll be done in three minutes, don’t be impatient or I might never bake you any cookies again!”

“I don’t believe you. You look like you’re enjoying this way too much.” Aoi snickered before giving Uruha a tight hug. “You’re just gonna need to keep me busy those three minutes I guess.” He then smiled.

“That might be tricky. I don’t really know what I could do.” Uruha said, pretending to be thinking this through.

“I might have some ideas.” Aoi shrugged, already leaning down to kiss Uruha.

Uruha smiled before letting Aoi kiss him softly. Aoi put his hands on Uruha’s waist and pulled him close to him. Uruha closed his eyes tightly as he let Aoi kiss him even deeper, he could feel his heart beat speeding up already until it was a steady pumping sensation in his throat.

Uruha wasn’t going to lie. He liked Aoi’s kisses.

A whole lot even.

If he would have known how much fun it was to kiss Aoi he would probably have kissed Aoi the first time he saw him! Although… that would have probably scared the other away…

Well at least he got to kiss Aoi now, Uruha thought.

But then buzzer went off. Uruha gasped as he was pulled out of his thoughts and Aoi quickly pulled back after being startled by the sudden noise. Uruha chuckled regretfully before moving away from the oven -and making Aoi move too- to get a kitchen towel to take out the hot cookies.

“I think they’re done.” He mumbled, poking one of them with a fork once they were lying on a plate.

“Here, taste.” He broke a little piece off of one of the cookies and blew on it before giving it to Aoi.

“Delicious.” Aoi grinned, licking his lips before kissing Uruha.

He then quickly moved out of the kitchen. “You set the table and I’m gonna go change!” he called from the bedroom.

“What are we eating?”

“I called for pizza half an hour ago. They should be here any minute!”

“Pizza, pizza…” Uruha mumbled to himself, searching for two of the big plates and a sharp knife. He frowned as he went through the drawers. Did they even have any knives? Or wait… didn’t the pizza guys pre-cut the pizzas already?

Uruha was about to ask Aoi if the pizzas would be cut already when there was a knock to the door.

Uruha quickly grabbed Aoi’s wallet and went over to the door. He was starving!

As he opened the door it wasn’t one of the pizza guys in one of those cute uniforms, but Kai in a big black coat and with a somewhat pissed expression on his face.

“Hey Kai.” Uruha said cheerfully.

“Hey, is Aoi home yet?”

“Yeah, he just got home, come on in.” Uruha held the door open even wider and let Kai step inside.

“Aoi?” Uruha called for Aoi quickly.

“Yeah babe, you found the money right?” Aoi came out of the bedroom in only a low fitting pair of jeans. “Kai?” He frowned slightly. “What are you doing here?”

“I thought I’d come over and ask how your last exam had gone.” Kai said slowly, letting his eyes go from Aoi’s half naked dressed form to… Uruha’s weirdly dressed one… he had gotten used to the other’s appearance by now but was that an apron?

For a moment Uruha had to frown at the strange vibe in the room. It almost seemed like there was some weird tension between Kai and Aoi. For a moment they seemed to be just staring at each other a little without really saying anything.

“That’s nice of you.” Aoi then finally said, “But I thought we were supposed to meet tomorrow?”

“Yeah, but I wasn’t sure if you were gonna be able to make it.” Kai said before taking off his coat and hanging it over the chair in the hallway.

Aoi looked at Kai a little nervously, hoping his best friend wouldn’t start freaking out on him. Oh God, please don’t let Kai freak out! Aoi thought, biting his lip.

He knew Kai, he knew him really well even, and he knew that Kai was pretty upset with him right now.

Aoi knew that he hadn’t been the best friend himself lately. Exams had gotten in the way of meeting Kai… and so had Uruha. Aoi just hadn’t wanted to leave Uruha home alone after he spent most of his time at home studying… and taking Uruha with him when he went to see Kai wasn’t an option anymore either.

The news that Uruha was actually going to live with him hadn’t been received all that greatly by Kai. Kai had told Aoi all about why he was just crazy for doing this… and this with Uruha standing right next to him.

Uruha had been pretty upset about that. Kai hadn’t noticed any of that of course, Uruha had made sure of that, sitting there with a shaky and fake smile all through the conversation, but when they’d gotten home Aoi had seen that Uruha was really upset about it.

From then on Aoi tried to go see Kai alone, while still spending enough time with Uruha… but that didn’t work out all the time.

And then two days ago, Kai had come to his school.

Kai had asked him if they weren’t friends anymore, he had totally abused those big puppy eyes of his, a small pout on his face and Aoi had felt so incredibly guilty.

Aoi had explained to Kai that he didn’t mean to spend so little time with his friend, but that everything was going to get better after exams, he’d promised to see Kai as soon as exams were over.

And apparently Kai had taken that quite literally…

Aoi felt even more nervous now, because no matter how sweet and amazing Kai was… he could be a tad jealous at times, too. And right now his biggest threat was Uruha.

“Do you want something to drink?” Uruha quickly asked. He wanted to make sure that Kai could say anything about him but not that he wasn’t a great host! “We’ve got water and ice-tea and-”

“Yes.” Kai quickly said.

“Yes water or yes ice-tea?”

“Whatever is fine, thanks.”

Uruha didn’t like the tone in Kai’s voice. He hadn’t talked to Kai all that often yet but he seemed upset. Uruha quickly nodded before going in the kitchen. From the moment he was out of the living room, Kai started talking to Aoi, in this hushed whispering voice, but Uruha was still able to hear everything.

Damn that wall-less loft! Uruha quickly bit his lip, he didn’t want to listen to Kai and Aoi arguing, that was none of his business. He leaned against the cupboards, trying to block all the sounds out. He even tried covering his ears and everything. Nothing helped, he could still hear the way Kai seemed upset and how Aoi tried to calm him.

And then Uruha heard his own name.

“Here you go.” Uruha said quickly, giving Kai his glass of water and a cookie. “I’ll make it an early night and go to bed now Aoi, okay?” Uruha gave Aoi a small smile and Kai a short wave before diving into the bedroom.

From the moment he had heard his own name his heart had started beating loudly. He hated it when people talked about him, especially if he was there to hear everything. He paced around Aoi’s bedroom a little, trying to calm down, trying to shake that feeling off of him.

As soon as he felt his heart beat starting to get steadier, a constant mantra of: “You’re imagining things” running through his head. He quickly took off his slippers and sat down on the bed.

Uruha thought about how he was saved for a moment until he noticed that because he wasn’t pacing and freaking out anymore he could hear Kai and Aoi again.

He groaned, what if Aoi thought he was spying on him or something? Uruha sighed and leaned back against the wall.

“You’re not thinking this over man.”

Uruha winced a little as he heard Kai’s harsh voice.

“What do you mean? This is my life, right?” Aoi sighed. “This makes me happy. He makes me happy, okay?”

“Your life? Am I not part of your life anymore? You told me nothing about this thing between the two of you. I’m your best friend and I’ve got to find out that you and he are a couple now by witnessing it for myself?”

“What exactly did you witness then?” Aoi dared Kai. Kai was talking like he had caught them having sex on the kitchen table or something like that.

“You were half naked Aoi, calling him babe.”

“Fuck, fine, so what? I like him, Kai, are you really gonna have something against that?”

“I don’t have anything against you liking him, Aoi. I have something against you and him…”

Uruha pulled his knees up to his chest. He should just run to the bathroom, run and close the door and get under the shower. That could work… maybe.

“What Kai?” Aoi asked loudly.

But if he went to the bathroom he’d have to get in Kai and Aoi’s eyesight again. And he was pretty sure that the two had forgotten he even existed by that moment…

“About you guys fucking!”

Uruha closed his eyes tightly. Kai was yelling so loud now that the neighbours would be able to hear everything. “How embarrassing.” Uruha mumbled to his knees, sniffing a little, his eyesight was becoming a little blurry...

“What? We’re not fucking, Kai.” Aoi hissed, trying to bring the average voice volume down again.

“He’s sleeping in your bed!”

“Look,” Aoi sighed, lowering his voice even more, “He’s sleeping in my bed okay, and we like each other. I should have told you that… but I didn’t, and now I’m telling you the whole deal, okay? We like each other, but that’s it… ”

“So you did lie to me?” Kai sighed dramatically. “I would never keep something this important from you!”

Uruha’s heartbeat was through the roof around now, and he hugged his knees to his chest tightly. He swallowed thickly, his throat felt too dry.

Ever since he’d been a little kid he’d been scared to death when people started yelling. He’d do anything to keep people from yelling and being violent towards each other.

“I was waiting to tell you because I knew you were going to overreact! It shouldn’t matter what I do, it’s me and him not you Kai, it shouldn’t matter to you if we were sleeping together.” Aoi yelled.

“Overreact?” Kai asked harshly.

What’s going on here?

Uruha’s breath got stuck in his throat and his eyes widened in shock.

“I’m overreacting, Aoi? He’s a guy!”

What are you doing?!

“Not only is he a guy, he’s someone you found on the street for fuck’s sake!”

Have you lost your mind?

“But the most important thing Aoi, he’s fifteen years old. He should be reading comic books and watching cartoons!” Kai yelled again.

What are you doing in his bed?!

“He’s lying in your bed right now…”

You’re sick! I can’t even look at you now!

“…and you expect me to believe that you’re not fucking him?”

You’re fucking your own son?!

Uruha gasped as he shook his head, making his hair fly around with the force of it.

“Shut up.” Uruha whispered with a little sob. “Shut up, shut up, shut up.”

He sniffed and tried rubbing his eyes to stop the tears.

Uruha put his hands on his head, he was trying so hard to get those voices in his head, those memories to just leave!

“Don’t think about it.” He whispered against his knees, wiping his nose on his long sleeves.

He felt the steady pounding of the headache in the back of his head and for a second he thought he might throw up. “Don’t think about it.” He whispered to himself again.

For a moment everything seemed quiet except for his head.

The only thing Uruha could hear were those last five words. You’re fucking your own son?!

spat out with such disgust and hate.

The only thing he could feel were his heart clenching painfully and the muscles in his belly tightening.

- please comment XD I'm dying here!

Then Kai left and slammed the door shut behind him, making everything in Uruha’s head quiet again.
