Title: Unstoppable Force
Fandom: The Dark Knight
Pairing: Bruce Wayne(/Batman)/Joker
Rating: R
Notes: Follows Cell-Block Tango; this is part 2/3. I suggest reading the first installment, as this one will make a lot more sense if you do. For the record, this is set in an AU where Bruce has been caught and put in Arkham (with a difference, I hope). It's the Joker's turn.
Summary: There will always be another chance.

Next time, it's going to go like this:

You're going to forego the whole pleasantries...thing. About as effective as wet gunpowder. The Batman is oh-so-responsive, but he's got a smart mouth on him and not enough balls to back it up. You don't like this Bruce Wayne routine. It doesn't suit.

You might brush again; you might not. It bothered Batsy something fierce. That alone has merit. Request a straitjacket instead of handcuffs. Throw Clivey for a loop.

(And perhaps drive the intended audience a bit mad - but don't get ahead of yourself.)

Either way you slice it - pointless, how those shrinks and quacks confiscated your knives - you're not going to have use of your hands. Not immediately. Otherwise, the wind-up will fall flat. As flat as Bruce Wayne will when you remind him of how fetching his bat-duds will look when he has 'em redone in violet.

Yeah, say that. No pleasantries here, officer! Well-placed Gordon reference, check.

(And to hell with not getting ahead, ooh, not-getting-ahead be damned.)

You'll kiss the Batman again. Batsy. Bruce. Remind him who he is; remind him who he's not. Remind him whose he thinks he is, and remind him whose he really is. Yes, there's the rub. And you'll be working on the whole hands-free objective earlier this time, much earlier, because that look of astonishment he's got on him is truly a joy and a thing of surliness forever.

(Eternity. Bruce Wayne doesn't believe in it, but, oh, Batsy does. And he fears it.)

You'll hope he notices the toothpaste at about the same time, or maybe the lack thereof. Irrelevant, though, because you'll be giving him a good once-over with your digits, won't you, but not a feel-up, nope, never an outright grope. Wouldn't be proper.

What you've got to remember is that it's all about the eyes. Forget everything else you think you know and focus on that. Those eyes he's got are never really open, are they, slitted and painted and sealed behind that fucking bat-mask? Just where does he shop, for chrissakes? Does the butler do it for him?

But getting back to that once-over: you've gotta use your teeth. He's got a thing, a fixation. Either that or it's the blood, but where there are teeth in this equation, there will be blood, and somebody is going to bleed. And for once, it's not going to be you. Leave it at handcuffs. Those've got some interesting - intimate - applications.

Because you've got to remember it's also all about that. It's not the teeth; it's not the blood. Those are only isolates in the whole, and are you even listening to me? It's this whole intimacy issue. Define it and establish boundaries even if you don't like definitions and boundaries. This is deep, deep water, and you never did like to swim.

(As does the use of brute force - but. That's the big difference between you and him.)

Most of all, you're going to relish it. This thing. Whatever happens, because chaos has to take over at some point. You can't consider every option; that's foolish. Joker you may be, but foolish you are not. You've got to remember the way it was -

so very long ago when you could bring yourself to do this and lay yourself so low

- that it's enough to just chase the car. Besides, you're not precisely out to catch it.
