It just figures that I'd be a drunken mess the day Hollywood went to hell. It was one of those girl's nights out gone very south. You know, one of those innocent cocktail hours turned into all out debauchery where men hover on the outskirts waiting for the moment that you forget you have any standards or how to say the word 'no.'

I vaguely remember some fat tourist taking a bite out of a woman's neck. It was a very subtle thing that barely registered for most of us. Plus, there was that whole 'too kool for skool' L.A. attitude to contend with where everyone pretends to not be moved by anything happening around them. It wasn't until a group of men started to hold the tourist down, screaming as he bit them in response, that we decided the place was about to become an all out brawl. Neither of us savored the idea of a bar fight. We settled our tab and stumbled out.

We managed to get down to the parking garage without seeing any of the panic that was spreading through Hollywood & Highland. Our biggest concern was being so damn tipsy we couldn't find the car. People were dashing madly to cars intermittently and tearing out of the garage at high speeds. It was disconcerting. That energy finally got to me, along with not being able to find the damn car. I went back up to the street level with the intention of taking the subway home.

That's when I realized something was very wrong. A woman brushed past me, cradling her arm and sobbing uncontrollably. I tried to help her but she screamed and ran away. The further I got out of the complex and closer to Hollywood Blvd, the more I started to realize something was very wrong. Something was very wrong and I was so ridiculously drunk I couldn't form a thought. It was a bad combination.

I went back and grabbed my girlfriend before heading to the Renaissance Hotel. It was close. It had good food storage. And it had plenty of space to hide in lock down as well as plenty of communication equipment. We grabbed an access card off of a freshly dead maid and found a suite with a view of Hollywood Blvd.

We don't have much of a plan beyond that. I'm too damn hungover to function.

I am dead tired and need some rest.

Please, if you are out there, leave us a comment. Let us know we are not alone.
