Due to the subtle machinations of oceancat11....
...okay, she was not terribly subtle... she showed up and dragged me off, although I did not kick or scream...
...I got to go to MoCCA yesterday, albeit a more abbreviated visit than originally planned.
Left the house at 9AM, back home by 9:30PM. Discombobulated by heat and many hours in a car, but quite happy. Did some networking, got a bag o' swag, made another B7 sale, found a new neighborhood and a new-to-me eatery [Pomodoro's on Spring Street - nothing fancy, just good food and a server who knows how to take care of overheated tired people].
Once I unpack my bag o'swag, I can write a more coherent con report.
From the top of my brain.... As far as LiveJournal users go, I met spasmsproject, castellucci, evandorkin, and davidgallaher1. I could not find librarygorilla, ebess, purvision, or any of the crew from Act-I-Vate or The Chemistry Set. I managed to lose lordrexfear's phone number, so missed an opportunity there. I embarassed myself heartily by asking a random stranger if he was chipzdarsky. [He smiled and says he gets told he looks like various other people a lot.]
All in all, an excellent day, although the temperatures nearly did me and my two traveling companions in. But I'm very grateful to have had the opportunity to go.
I did experience something very, very odd this morning. I dreamed that I woke up at mid-afternoon today and went through most of what felt like a completely normal day. Then I actually *did* wake up, and it was only 8:30AM. I've checked my computer clock and the television news, and it says it is still Sunday the 8th, before noon. Understandably, however, I'm a bit disoriented, and as tired as if I'd already put in a full day of work.
That's probably the heat talking. I expect the office to be unbearable later today, and will have to retreat to the bedroom for coolth. |
