I have enough people staring at me. I'm not blonde, blue-eyed like the rest of them. So, I'm different. There's no reason to gawk. What if I have almond-shaped eyes? They can see you like you see me. It's not easy being a halfling. Americans sit and gaze. Asians don't accept me. I'm like Kurt Vonnegut--a (wo)man without a country. Your whispers fill my ears, your eyes pin-prick my whole body. Look me in the eye--and tell me your name. I hate when people do this. Staring is fine...if you know the person. In fact, I love it when people that I know, particularly a boyfriend, stares at me. In my mind (and hopefully his), I am the only person in the room, in the country, in the world. The dorky smile always helps, too. But for a complete stranger to stare, for no apparent reason, that is just plain wrong. I'm pretty normal; I don't dress eccentrically and my hair is my natural color. Why do people stare? Now, if I am acting eccentric, which I do on a regular basis, then I understand. Like today, my brother and I were playing basketball in the grocery store with packets of pepperoni (which we bought for the pizza...yay!). People stared and a few laughed at our antics. This is okay, because I would do the same. I smiled back and went on with the shopping, but I digress. It just doesn't make sense as to why people stare at other people, just because of their nationality or whatnot. As for a reason for this, a person in my class literally sat and stared for a friggin hour and a half as the class progressed. You might think I am being paranoid. Nope, I am not. He sat beside me and every time I peeped in his direction, his eyes were on me. It made me completely uncomfortable, because he was so close. Grrr....stupid people. On another note, one of the featured blogs or whatnot on Xanga today was one entitled "Guys are assholes"...stfu kthnx by SomeRandomDude (9/7/08). It was a guy's perspective on guys, sex, and girls. It's pretty entertaining, to say the least. What is amazing, though, is that in this entry and the links that followed, no one ever stated the obvious: Girls think about sex all the time, too. We just don't broadcast it. Why doesn't everyone come to terms with this? It would make things a lot easier. (Excuse me, SomeRandomDude does state this. I just was too busy laughing.) Girls complain about no good guys and guys complain that girls are complicated. Girls, quit looking for guys in clubs that will break your heart. Guys, quit chasing girls that are high-maintence. I know there are guys out there that are only looking for sex. Trust me, the last guy I dated was just this type (He was with the army, left the country for a month and never called me back when he got back. Yep, an asshole). My friends complain about their girl wanting their undivided attention. Everyone needs to find a person that can compromise. If your the type who wants sex all the time, find a girl/guy with the same attribute. There might be no substance to that relationship, but at least your sexual desires will be quenched. If your the type who loves music, find a girl/guy that likes it, too. You don't have to get a music major or whatever. Sometimes, a friend might love music, just keeps it under wraps. Life is funny like that. If your a person who is so wrapped up in themselves, dating probably isn't for you. Hahahaha..... |
