3 O'clock in the morning and I'm up... but I was lying in bed (not sleeping) and decided to make good use of the time. Work is fine, if fact, I'll be taking vacation next week. I don't have any real plans at the moment except to enjoy not being on a schedule and being able to do what I want when I want to. I may go out of town for just a few days but nothing huge. Whatever I do, I plan to enjoy it to the max.
I read something in my Suzanne Somers book that was so appropriate for me. She said that whenever she finds herself getting stressed out, she realizes that she's back to her old ways of trying to please everyone and do everything so perfect that she doesn't leave time for taking care of herself and enjoying life. So she has to give her self permission to really step back, relax and enjoy the moment.
I realized that I try so hard at everything that sometimes I'm just tired and need to take care of me and not try so hard to do everything so well. Also looking around me, at work and at home, it's time for fall cleaning and the opportunity to de-clutter my surroundings. I function so much better when I have less things to take care of and have a clean simple environment. It stresses me out to have too much "stuff" and be disorganized.
I think my next goal is to gradually go through my house room by room and see if I can thin out a little more. I want to make my home as spa like as possible and make a place where my time at home is peaceful and nurturing. I want to feel like my home is my "get-away" and full of "feel good" places to be.
I've got a good start on my diet and eating healthy again. I don't know how I got off track but I'm happy to be doing well again.
